Thanks for asking I am doing well, still not able to sit up, foot has to be above heart.... no walking... I can stand only to brush teeth...

Well the snow storm on Saturday put a huge damper on my DS's 4th bday party so we had to reschedule for Sun and only a few people could come But on the bright side someone's team is going to the SUPERBOWL

I just realized that Sunday I will be doing the double digit dance for our trip to Kidani!

Can someone (Please!) walk me through the arrival process @ AKL? I have anxiety & well I need to know so I dont make a fool of myself!

We are driving & I basically want to know:
-Can I self park (fee?)
-When I drive up is there a separate area for 'self parkers'?
-Should I pull up and expect to get my luggage out then?
-Does someone bring a bell cart?
-Do I go park then go check in?


Im sure theres more....Ive never stayed at a nice hotel & I dont want to look like ...

I've never driven to Disney before, but I do know there is free parking at the resorts, and if you want to drive your car to the parks that is also free since you're staying onsite. There is a generous parking area right in front of Jambo House, and a parking garage at Kidani. I would drop off your bags at the front door and there is always bellservice there to help. You could leave the bags with someone in your party or bellservice could hold onto them when you park your car and come back in. The check-in counters are on the left side of the lobby. I'm sure your anxiety will melt away once you're there, all the CMs I encountered at AKL were wonderful.

We usually take the ME but do rent a car. First you will have to check in with security and they sometimes will give you a parking pass for the resort. If not you can get one at the front desk.

Next pull up to the resort and bell services will take your luggage for you. You can then either have Valet park your car or drive 2 seconds to the parking lot. And the only time we have trouble finding a good spot is when we come back from the parks late at night.

Every night when we returned DH usually dropped us off and then went to park the car. They are so helpful at AKL that they always helped us take the stroller out.

So don't stress. You will be fine.

...first of all, you WILL look like a when you enter the lobby and your jaw drops open...

...but srsly, when you stop at the entrance gate, you will be greeted by a "Welcome Home!" and instructed where to drive. Pull up to the main entrance of AKL, beneath the portico. There, CM's will open the doors for you and your guests and you can unoad your bags here. Don't worry - they'll bring everything inside, because if you arrive too early, or your room just isn't ready yet, they will secure your belongings. In most cases, after you get in the queue line and check in, the CM's will then direct you to your room, where you will follow them. One of the items you will receive, besides your room/park keys, a map of AKL, and park pamphlets, is a white printed paper that you need to secure to your dashboard. Of course, after your car has been emptied upon arrival, someone in your party needs to park your vehicle in the self-park lot. I suggest placing the paper on your dashbaord as soon as possible. Remember, this item IS VERY IMPORTANT - it gets you into any park's parking lot FOR FREE!! Also, If you have ADR's at any of the resorts, this lets you park there too....

No work, I can barley sit up, have to have the foot propped up over my heart most of the time, no standing, no walking... so no work and yes I have been reading a lot and board of the TV already.

The computer is harder for me to use for some reason, I just get comfortable with it.
