Good evening, Js & Ks! :sunny:

After reading all your posts about birthdays I feel positively ancient! I had my 60th this year!!

Lots and lots of you are headed to our favorite place in the next week to ten days. :yay: I hope you all have magical holiday trips!!

Good morning Jamborinis and Kidanites! :wave2:

 JD's coming up on that birthday in January and mine will be in Feb 2013! I remember when I used to think 40 year olds were ancient!! :rotfl2: Now 60 sounds so young!!!! :rolleyes1

It's all about the journey, not the destination and we're having a great time getting there! :thumbsup2

My sisters & I are starting to think about where we will go for when we turn 50. The trip could occur anywhere in 3 to 6 years depending upon which one of us turning 50 is the year we go. At 40, we went to Disney for a long weekend. (When my youngest sister turned 40) Now we are coming up on 50. I don't think that it will be Disney since we are all going in August, but maybe a cruise? It will depend upon what they can afford and what we can convince my youngest sister to do without her family.

At times, I think wishfully back on when I was in my 20's but then I realize that while I was healthier and more active, I actually do much more now than I did back then. Mostly do to more $ available to do things and being more confident in traveling by myself.

Good morning, Js & Ks! :sunny:

I must be 4 if you all are to be believed! :rotfl:

I would not want to go back to any age I have already experienced. My outlook is that the best is yet to come and every single day is a great one! So... make this one as great as you can, my friends! :goodvibes

Anyone here stay Club Level? Was it *worth* it? What does it include? :thanks: :worship:

Cash or points?

The answer is YES to both!!!:thumbsup2

If staying on points, you're on the 6th floor which is where the lounge is. There aren't many of those rooms available however.

Staying AKL-CL (as a resort guest), the disadvantage is that you will be 2 floors down from the lounge. The Club Level rooms are located on the 4th floor, guaranteed Savannah View.

:thumbsup2 Points. But I'd have to try at the 7 month mark so it might be a moot point if there aren't many 2 bedrooms CL available. With 2 adults, 3 teens, and a tween I am thinking the extra 50 points for the 5 nights will be well worth it. If DH can take a few beers at a time down to the pool then it's a no brainer. :rotfl2: Can we take drinks and snacks with us or do they have to be consumed in the lounge? I'm not thinking of filling a backpack or anything :rolleyes1 but taking some waters into the parks would be nice.

I stayed at CR CL and we just put the beer into our refillable mug. The CL stopped having bottles of water in the lounge. there was just one big bottle to fill your cup from. But we could get mini bottles if we asked. Don't know how similar it is to AKL's CL though.

But yes, there's no problem with taking food and drinks out of the lounge!

Thanks Missy! Good to know we can get mini bottles of water to take into the parks.

Does anyone have any current photos of the offerings at the AKV CL? I'd like to see if it's foods we'd enjoy. I found an old CL photos thread but didn't see any of the AKV CL.

It has been a year since I stayed at AKL CL and I got it at the 7 month mark, but it was a 1 br...

We really enjoy it, it helps a lot since there is not CS near.

We could take food and beer back to our room and watch the animals but we could not take water back, we asked if we could get a bottle but they would not send us to the room with water. Now I brought my water bottle empty and they filled it for me.:confused3

My TRs have photos from the CL lounge in 2010 and 1009.

It's my understanding that CL no longer provides any mini bottles of water. Many guests bring their own sports water bottles and use the CL's bottled water to fill up before heading to the parks. :thumbsup2

Food in the Club Lounge: Breakfast is cold cereals; hot oatmeal and toppings - granola, blueberries, brown sugar; quinoa; fruit (cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon, pineapple, strawberries); bagels, toast, pastries; yogurt.

Throughout the day, there are snacks provided: cookies, chips, yogurt-covered pretzels; scones for afternoon tea.

5 to 7pm is the appetizer service: 2 different hot offerings each evening (from Boma and Jiko), wine and beer.

8 to 10pm desserts and cordials are out.

At 7 months, it will be very difficult to get a 2-bedroom, but never say never! :thumbsup2

I'll post pictures from August in a couple minutes.......
