I just want a PAP deal! Is that too much to ask? I, like so many others, spend so much at Disney every year, I just want a good deal on a PAP. I have been stalking the DVC site every day looking for it. If they don't offer one this year then I will get 10 day hoppers with water parks. I have two teenage boys and they aren't happy going to Down town disney without going to Quest. They also like going to the waterparks on their own. Also, it also helps me justify another trip when you have an annual pass.
I was really hoping to see something by now. I know I sound like a whinny baby and Disney doesn't owe me anything. I still want it!

Okay. I'm done venting. Anyone else still holding out hope?

We all want it, but with their financial results last quarter I do not think we are going to see the love. They have our money and know that they will continue to get our money for years to come. I know that while Disney is my "Happy Place" and we will continue to go we will now begin to use the room as a location and start to spread our money to the other location in the area. Our kids are now old enough to gt the most out of Universal and that will be a new location. We can also do resort only trips that use the pools and we can have breakfast/lunch in the room and try out non-Disney Restaurants or some of the lesser known places.

The old saying stands and Disney does this over and over again "Penny wise and dollar foolish" The amount they would spend giving the discount would be received back 10x without spending in the parks.

I hoping for a deal on the PAP as well. Have bought it each time it was offer before. I like having it even if I don't use the added features that much. I think last time I only went to the water parks twice with it.

I just purchased the AP last week, so if a discounted PAP comes out I'll upgrade or buy out right if I can't upgrade the AP and save the AP for another year.

You're not alone - and just because they offered it 2 years in a row when we couldn't take advantage of the deal either time due to the time limitations for activating them it will be our luck that they DON'T offer a special deal this year!! We went ahead & bought our reg. AP's before the price goes up. I'm still crossing my fingers but a special deal at this point probably won't happen just because THIS YEAR we could reallllly use it. So yeah, pretty much we would the jinx to the whole thing probably. It's just the way this past year has gone….

Buy FL real estate and you could potentially qualify for FL resident discounts.

I was hoping for the deal, too! The cost for 5 people to go to a water park for one day is high to add to our regular APs...a deal on the PAP would be awesome!

DH and I have the worst luck. Looks like we're going to need to buy PAP renewal vouchers tomorrow, since there are rumors of a price increase coming this Sunday. Wonder what would happen if we buy our vouchers and then they turned around and did have a sale after that? Doesn't seem likely though, if price increases are supposed to be coming this weekend...

  1. That's not fair, Dean!!!
  2. Just got an email from Mickey himself today offering me 3 days one park for $139 and 4 days one park for $159. Can't use it because it's only good through 6/5/2015 and we have other trips booked. Would have been great for DD's BFF and family trip, but...

LOL! FL isn't the only discount but it might be the only safe one. While in part it was tongue in cheek, the reality is that for the right person it might be worth it and is far more guaranteed than DVC and can actually be a lower investment amount in some cases. But it's not without it's risks either.

I love this idea. The only problem I have is that I have three high school kids that think they are going to college. I will have to wait a little bit before I can pursue that. :(

I will wait a few more weeks and then buy the 10 day park hoppers/water parks- I am bummed out with the price increase but maybe we will visit Hilton Head next year instead of Disney.

We just bougt AP's yesterday to avoid todays price increase. If the PAP deal comes out later, we'll buy those for next year's trip.

On a serious note, done with planning, this can have a far greater return than say DVC or any other option I'm aware of. Not only would one get basically the same discount, they'd get a lot more and possibly better options like EPCOT after 4, seasonal passes, weekday passes and FL special tickets. Like DVC, it's likely not worth it for the discounts alone for most people but could certainly add options to someone thinking about a rental property or spot of land. And for those who truly wanted to put some effort into it, the savings on 8 people could easily reach $2000 per year. Just buy a small cheap piece of land in FL. Please no one try to make this an issue of state residency because that's not actually applicable to this issue. It's simply an issue of Disney's requirements of the discounts.
