Is It Too Late For My Waitlist

I have been waitlisted for every resort (studio and 1 bedroom) since January:sad1: for my upcoming April 21st trip and I am now with the 31 day cancellation window. I have a studio at SSR and I limited my waitlist to switch only for the entire 7 night ressie. Should I give up all hope of switching anywhere - after all SSR is still a wonderful resort:) ? What kind of experience have others had within the 31 day window?
Thanks.

I went from SSR to OKW to AKV within the 31 days, but only for a two night stay.

We use the wait list a lot...so far, it has not come thru only once (and that was for a BW preferred view one-bedroom to a standard view on Marathon weekend two years ago)...

BUT, the biggest factor for you, I think, will be the fact that you W/L'ed a whole week...I surely understand why you wouldn't want to risk the resulting move-a-thon if you W/L'ed each day and not all days came thru...but my take is that your chances of getting all 7 days go way up if you W/L them individually...

For example, on March 3 my son asked if we could go to WDW for spring break (March 16)...I called 3/4, expecting a huge "no"...but instead, somewhat miraculously, we wound up w/four nights in an OKW one-bedroom near the Hospitality House. I got each night separately, over the course of four days worth of daily phone calls...The reservation started w/a one-bedroom, a studio, a studio near HH, and then a one-BR (four moves for four nights...not great, but I was amazed we could get anything at all only 12 days prior to spring break!)...I called each day (sometimes 2-3 times/day) to see if I could get something that would avoid all those moves...one of the four days there was nothing...each of the other days one of the days I needed fell into place and as noted, we wound up in a one-bedroom near HH and never had to move (and the room was ready when we checked in at noon, too! It was the trip that "was meant to be"--and it was a great one!)...

W/L'ing each day individually IS a risk...do you have enough points to W/L the entire reservation on an individual day basis w/out canceling your SSR reservation until you get as much of what you need as you're comfortable with? That could be the way to go, if you do...

Bottom line: it's worth the effort to keep trying...the CMs at MS are really nice about it (they encouraged me to keep calling as frequently as I wanted to...said availability, especially inside the 31 day mark, is very volatile--there are always cancelations--and getting something is very hit-or-miss)...

Good luck...here's some pixie dust for you...

DMKEDM and MaryAnn DVC - Thanks for all the detailed advice and yes your are right - I probably should have waitlisted day by and taken a chance but since I am going with my sister and BIL and a four year old, I was apprehensive - I have been calling daily to see what is available for the last week or so and today - there were several 1 bedrooms at SSR for the last 3 nights. Here is my dilemma though - I am now borrowing points so if I switch to a one bedroom and a studio came up at AKL, BW, or BCV - I think I would stick it out and stay in the studio for the week to be at those locations. So now I am stuck between the infamous rock and hardplace:confused3 . Once borrowed - these would expire in August and I don't plan to go back before November:sad1: . Anyway - I'll sleep on it and call back in the morning to see what's available. Thanks again.
