Is it too early?

So we're planning for our Disneyland trip in May. We already have an estimate on the entire trip (tickets/hotel/flight) but does anyone think it would be too early to book? Do hotel/flight rates go up as the date gets closer? Last time we went we booked like two months before so, to be honest I have no idea what I'm doing haha. Thanks for any help. :)

Book your room now and watch for a better rate.

If you're using air miles, I find it best to do early. If I'm paying for a flight, I find the rates get a little more reasonable 2 to 3 month out.

I think it depends on the hotel and airline market out of your home airport. Some have better deals than others.

We are going May 2-7 and I have reserved our room at the Best Western Park Place Inn because they offer a "no-car discount" on their website that brought our total to the low-mid $500s after tax. That is a REALLY good rate for across the street IMO so I booked it now in case they raise their rates.

I have to wait for payday to buy airfare but I WILL be buying it now because round trip PDX-SNA is $220 after taxes which is a good rate. Sure, something cheaper may come up but I'm pleased with that price (plus I am using miles for the second ticket woohoo!).

Never too early!

We booked our air/hotel last month. Total was just under $1000 for 3 (SEA/SNA and stay at 4 nights @ Ramada Maingate).

Just re-checked our air portion last night, and it was around $1026. I am sooo glad I booked early!

Plus some airlines (Alaska/Horizon I know do) will price match if you book on their site and they lower the fare on the exact same itinerary.

So, I figure if the price goes down then hey I get some $ back!

We're heading out at the end of Feb, and have our room and airfare paid for in September. We found a fair deal for the flight, and suites seem to be tight that week (looked at 20 places or so, and found about 3 that had a suite like we needed). So, I'd say it's not too soon. Just keep an eye open for good deals.
