Is it Tacky for Someone to Have a Bridal Shower with No Wedding?

Times are changing. Big weddings are not the thing they used to be.

Thank goodness for that, and that showers are changing to. I don’t go to showers. Oh, I’ll send a gift, but the actual event is a waste of a day - sitting around playing games and watching someone open dozens of household gifts. Same for baby showers. I avoid them all like the plague.

However, now that they are couple showers with a modern twist, they are more tolerable. Thankfully, times are changing. Hubby and I can eat, drink, and be merry with our friends and truly wish them well. No more boring showers.

A gift shouldn't be about the type of ceremony or reception. If you want to give a gift via a shower, do so. If not, don't. Either way, they are getting married.
