Is it really crowded if we go Columbus Day week?

Hey, Keyana, that's when we're going too :goodvibes
Have fun!!!
Yesterday, SW had a special Ding! for Independence Day. I clicked on it, even though we have our tickets (because I like to see if I can get them cheaper) and I noticed that SW added Another flight for the 8th! The last time I checked, all the flights for the day (except the ones that are not non-stop) were almost sold out (except for the most expensive fares). I don't know how often that occurs, where an airline adds another flight to their day.Do they do that often when it's crowded? We generally go around the same time and we've yet to encounter a crowd. I'm hoping for the same this year :goodvibes

We were there last year from Oct 4 - 10. It was more crowded than I expected. However, did NOT even compare to the trips we've taken in June! Some FastPass machines weren't even open because the lines weren't long enough. I wouldn't worry about the crowds. Just make a good plan and enjoy!

THANK YOU for the info , I will not worry now, I was in DISNEY IN JUNE 2004 AND 2005 had a great time ,

This will be are first trip for MNSSHP 09/28/06 TO 10/08/06

HOPE ALL WILL BE FINE :cheer2: :rotfl: :thumbsup2

We go every year the first week in Oct. This year our dates are Oct 2-9. Two years ago we went with family and to accommodate them, we went a week later, leaving the saturday prior to Columbus day and staying Columbus day week. IMHO, based on 5 years of going in October, the week prior to Columbus day, right up until the Friday before the weekend is fine--not very crowded and very managable. Once Columbus day weekend hits and throughout the week after Columbus day, it is quite a bit more crowded and EPCOT is absolutely packed. It still isn't like spring break, but quite a bit more crowded than the prior week. We have decided that if we can avoid Columbus day week and go the first week in Oct, we would. I am from New England, and DD has Oct 2 off for Yom Kippur but no other days that week, so she will miss 4 days of school. According to our school calendar, Columbus day is the only day off that week too, so kids going that week will also miss 4 days.

The weather is usually warm but not too humid--except for last year when it was very humid. Still it is our favorite time to go. We usually do the parks in the beginning of our week when we arrive and save our R&R days for Columbus day weekend so we don't have to fight the crowds. We fly out on Columbus day.

Hope this helps and isn't too discouraging.
