ok,,,so we need a room for 3 nights in early May.ANd even the value rooms are out of our price range,SO i was checking around and found an ok deal on the GROSVENOR,it said it was a wdw resort now,,I know it isnt really,,its actually downtown disney.BUT for the price it seems to be our best deal.now,,,is is REALLY THAT close to WDW? and does anyone have a review of this place?I posted this here instead of the orlando hotels because it is listed as a Disney place(since its it DWTN DISNEY)..there are a few other hotels there,,,what about those?TIA!!!!!!!! princess:

I don't believe it's a Disney Resort like the All Stars or Caribbean Beach.. but I stayed at a hotel on the same strip as it and there were buses that took us to all the parks. We were able to walk to DTD in about 10-15 minutes from what I remember. I think it would be a good choice. Give them a call and check about the buses though, this was like 10 years ago when I stayed over there.

I don't think you will get early entry at this resort. Keep watching for codes to come out for May, you might get a vaule for less.

The Grovesnor is right next to Downtown Disney. Having stayed both there and on-property, there is really no comparison. I would watch for codes - I recently got a e-mail PIN with value resorts at $59 per night for that timeframe. With PINs out, other codes are sure to follow.

I stayed at the grovsner in june of 97. It is right at downtown disney. It is one of the last hotels (could be the last) on the road from crossroads to DTD. They did have disney transportation to the parks and you could walk to DTD. When we were there, they offered character breakfasts, too. I went in college with a group of friends and we all enjoyed it. Not sure how much has changed since 97, though :flower1:

It is not a Disney-owned hotel and does not participate in the morning or evening Extra Magic Hours. They offer tranportation to the parks, but it is not part of the Disney transportation system. I think Mousesavers or TripAdvisor will have some reviews. You might want to check those out.
