... to get mini-cakes for our Dessert Party? I love them, they would be great!

i would say anything is possible if you have enough money! Sorry i cant answer better, we are going with a menu so i'm not sure but i would think mit may be

So is it possible to just serve these along with drinks?

hmmm...thats a good question...i think as long as you meet the food/bev minimum for your location you can do it...but since you aren't picking a menu, i dont think the drinks would come with it so that would probably be extra.

It also depends on the time of year you are having it. Disney does not allow certain cakes to be out or they require certain flavors etc. I think you are fine in December though.

Sarah_n_brian2006, I don't see why not, but you're going to have to ask the FTW folks about that just to be certain. ;)

I had mini-cakes served at an outdoor party that I held at the Grand Floridian in July of 2006. I'll share a few photos below:

The mini-cakes were actually a surprise that was put together by my Event Manager and the Pasty Chef. Besides all the other food that was going to be served, I had asked her to come up with a fun dessert for my guests. I think she and the chef hit the nail on the head with that addition to my menu. The cakes were beautiful AND delicious.

I think I know the answer. Guests cannot take the remaining of their cakes right?

Thanks, everyone, for the kind words about the mini-cakes but I cannot take any credit for them. They were a total surprise to me.

As a matter of fact, on the day of my event, I was a guest on a VIP Tour of the Magic Kingdom Theme Park. When we stopped for lunch at the LTT, I used the restaurant's house phone to contact my Event Manager. It was during our telephone conversation when she informed me that the "surprise" dessert was all set to go for my party that evening. She asked me if I wanted to know what it was, and I told her that I didn't. I knew whatever she and the chef had planned would be perfect.

The funny thing is that when I went back to my seat inside the restaurant, I had no idea what the surprise dessert was going to cost me. I actually didn't find out until a few weeks later when my event's final bill arrived in my resort room (I spent 5-1/2 weeks in WDW that summer). The charge was on a par with what I had been charged for the mini-cakes at my FTW vow renewal. ~Phew!~

Sarah_n_brian2006, my Event Manager saw to it that to-go boxes were at my event so that the mini-cakes could be taken home by any guests who wanted to do so. I've been fortunate that Disney has always done that for me. I've never had to ask. But if I were you, I would run it by your Event Manager just to be certain that the option exists for your event. It never hurts to ask.

Please keep us posted. If you go through with the mini-cakes, I can't wait to see what they'll look like. Disney always has some really fun (and scrumptious) tricks up their sleeve. ;)
