Is it possible to plan a WDW trip in 2 weeks?

We'd been thinking about a fall trip, but with some job changes for my husband, long story short, I think we're going at the end of February. ACK! Is it possible to plan well on such short notice, or do I just wing it and enjoy the spontaneity of it all?

My daughter is almost 5 - we were there a year ago (also a last-minute-ish trip) but we didn't overplan that one since it was her first time and I knew she was a bit leery of some of the characters. Now that she knows what it's all about and is way into the princesses, I would like to have at least some game plan.

I assume a character meal is out of the question, or are there ones that might still be available? I think we're going to stay at Port Orleans or Coronado - I haven't even checked yet.

So - any tips for last minute planning? I love reading all of your plans for months in advance, although I think I would go crazy with anticipation. ;) Even waiting 2 weeks seems hard for me now!

Yeah it's possible! I'm in the same situation as you because of my dad's hectic work schedule. It is possible. I suggest sitting down and making lists. Just have everything written down in front of you and then once you decide on everything pick up your phone and call Disney :)

Yes it is possible. We planned our trip in three weeks and that was only because we couldn't get our first choice of days of from work. You will be able to do it and have a great trip. Make calls, 407 wdwdine call ask for help. don't plan out every second of every day. plus, you don't have to spend months waiting for your trip, it comes really fast. :) Sorry to those out there who are waiting : ( We were able to schedule several character meals and other reservations. Have a great trip!!!

Also, yes it's possible to enjoy a character meal this short notice. I've walked right into the Crystal Palace Pooh breakfast with no reservation at all. All you can do is call and ask. :)

Totally agree! It's such a tease planning months in advance! I love the fact that i'll be at Disney THIS MONTH! EEEEEEEEE!! :thumbsup2

::yes:: ::yes:: Definitely! Just this past November DH and I decided we were going and made all ressie's and adr's within 4 DAYS! Yes- decided we were going on Monday 11/13 and left Thursday 11/17. Did our friends and family think we were crazy? Yes. Did we think we were crazy? Yes. But guess what? It was the least stressful trip to wdw we have done to date! Do it! You'll have a great time!

You betcha :thumbsup2 Our last two trips have been planned in, respectively, 5 days and 8 days. We didn't have any ADRs, but could have done many character meals if we had wanted. Now that we have done this, I kinda like the short notice thing. DW and I are lucky to be flexible in our scheduling. That helps a bunch.

Pick up the phone and call. It can be done.... :sunny: You will be going the same time as we are we are staying at POFQ. Just jot down which parks you may want to go to on certain days and incorporate the ADR to match the schedule. You can do it. Let us know how we can help. Main thing is to get your accomodations. :sunny:

not only is it possible, its completely doable!

you will get adr for character meals! may not be your 1st choice in time, but u will get one. you don't 'need' one anyway, they do accept walkups!

the castle dinner/breakfast /lunch what not you have to call the day its available. but u never know there may have been a cancellation!

have fun and enjoy the planning. the best part: you wn't be on pins and needles for 9 months looking forward to the trip, as its right around the corner!

happy planning.

We booked about 2 and a half weeks ago to fly on Sunday from the UK. We have made ADRs for Garden Grill, Crystal Palace, Sci-Fi and Donald's Breakfastosaurus as well in that time. princess:
