Is it Possible to Get an Upgrqade to Concierge?

We will be staying at the POLY, and have booked a water view room. Has anyone been successful in obtaining an upgrade to concierge?

We checked into the Poly Aug22nd of last year and got upgraded to concierge garden view without asking! I think the wife is now spolied!

That depends on a couple of things. What time of year are your travelling and for how long. If you are going during a busy time of year and for 10 days, probably not. The Poly concierge is EXTREMELY popular, and is usually pretty booked, but at slower times of the year you might luck out. If you are paying for a lagoon view room, why not just upgrade your stay to garden view concierge? It costs about the same. A word of caution, though, concierge can spoil you. DH won't go back if we don't stay in a concierge room. You will have fun either way, the Polynesian is a great resort.

If it's the fireworks over the castle that you want to see the view from the concierge lounge is unbeatable. They dim the lights, turn on the music from the castle so you can hear just as well as if you were on main street, and all while you are comfortably seated in the lounge sipping on wine or snacking on gummy bears.. so you won't really miss out on the water view room. Switch and don't look back, except maybe for a discount code!

Not quite sure what you mean. Are you looking to upgrade when you arrive at the resort? If so, then you are probably still going to pay the same price as if you booked now and there is always the chance that the concierge level will be sold out. You'd also be missing out on one of the prime benefits, which is pre-planning assistance. I'd say that if you're interested in staying concierge, upgrade before you go.
