So I'm sitting here knowing we're gonna get this rotten snow storm, and my friends that are in WDW that ran the marathon this weekend just had lunch @ Sanaa, I think I'm so jealous I could scream:laughing:
And I know you've heard me whine a million times, well make it a million and one:laughing: I have enough miles to fly FOR FREE to WDW, and I'm sure SSR or OKW or even Kidani would have a studio, but I still can't go..What a whiny baby I am, I should be worried about the mortgage but thats not as fun:rotfl:

It is freezing here today in DC.....wind chill around 26 degrees right now. BURRRRR

Awww - I know it sucks!!! I wanted to head that way Thurs. - so, I feel your pain!

We are just back from a Christmas thru NYE trip, but are thinking of suprising the kids in our group with an end-of-April trip...and we are thinking of trying AKL for the first time!

Posted on the main board, but here seems better.

What should we not miss? Are the special safaris worth it? How about Concierge? Worth it? It'll be the kids first warm-weather trip....so any special advice?

My sister is thinking a connecting room for my mom, possibly concierge, so she can sleep in if she wants. Any advice?

Thanks in advance, AKL experts!

Hi All! Sitting here waiting for the snow to start...got "permission" to work at home tomorrow and school is already cancelled, so all is good. :thumbsup2 I feel bad for you folks in GA - at least we are used to the ice and snow up here. My mom's best friend moved down to GA a couple of years ago. One of her reasons was to get away from the cold weather. But every winter that she has been there, it has been really cold! She laughs about it, but I would guess she's more than a little annoyed!

I haven't done concierge or the special safaris, but I'm all for staying at AKL in ANY room!! :cool1: Make sure to schedule in at least a day to stay at the resort and enjoy the special activities and the pool.

I hope my information is not too dated - we stayed there in 2007 - but we liked the animal viewing with night vision goggles, the cookie-decorating in the lobby and the parade. There were lots more activities that we didn't have time to participate in - another reason I'm trying to get back!

There is so much to do - I know there is a list around here somewhere - but April will be nice and warm, I'd take at least one day off to just spend at the lodge, pool, - they have the cookie decorating, the culinary tour, the bead collecting, there are always activities out by the pool, DS built a birdhouse on one trip. In the lobby near the check - in desk there will be an activities schedule - you can check that each day. Of course there is the night vision goggles, animal viewing all day, etc.... etc.... maybe one of us can find the list and repost it. I'm pretty sure once you stay at the lodge you will love it, like we all do - there is just something really special about it! AND of couse - you have to try the zebra domes!!! :goodvibes

AHHHHHHHHH HA HA HA - you forgot swimming with hairballs (I'm glad they let us ALL do that now, not just concierge), viewing the hour of free animal swim time at night, even though they no longer let the zebra's and giraffe in at the same time... :sad1: (and the ever popular CM pool cleanup afterwards) the red river hogs sing and dance along--- what am I forgetting........... :rotfl2:

I was hoping someone else would post with a longer list of activities - I couldn't remember them all! :thumbsup2
