It happens every decade or so!!! :rotfl:

Depending on where in metro Atlanta, anywhere from 3 to 10" this time. There aren't enough plows, sand trucks or workers to clear the roads so only the main highways get plowed/salted/sanded (and they're actually in worse shape than many of the side streets). :confused3

We're having freezing rain now and that means everything will be sheet ice (I think it is already!) The newscasters are describing outside as "crunchy" at the moment!! :rotfl2:

School is already canceled for tomorrow (and that's saying a lot since Gwinnett County usually waits until the last possible moment to cancel).

The latest report I heard had us staying at or below freezing until the weekend!! :headache: Yes, a few inches of snow/ice can shut this area down for a week!!! We had plenty of warning though and everyone stocked up on groceries. (and wine & beer!!!) :thumbsup2

Wine and beer to two most important food groups!

GDOT is admitting they've never seen anything like this. :scared1: There's over an inch of ice on the Interstates and they can't get it to melt. The word "unprecedented" is being used a lot now. The really cold temps are coming so we may be iced-in for lord knows how long!! :headache:

People are walking to grocery stores and restaurants so it's not a total ghost town in Atlanta, but we live over 4 miles from the nearest grocery store and the roads are all 2 lane/no sidewalks, so I'm not going anywhere!! (JD, on the other hand, thinks he'll be going out later this morning!!)

As a kid we lived in North Alabama and every 8 years or so we would get some snow but mostly ice. The roads would be closed and everyone would stop driving cars but we ALWAYS were on the four wheelers riding up and down the streets! Man that was fun when your a kid and your only worry was if you had a day out of school or not! I miss those days!

Munich's Technical University has a large agricultural department, it includes even forestry and brewing beer, you can get a "Master in Brewing" there. :goodvibes

My University in Wales is famed for it's "Library Studies" degrees, I didn't think Librarians needed to be too qualified...

And being in the middle of nowhere it also had a lot of farming and equestrian courses too.

They kept all the farmers and librarians on a different campus 2 miles from ours for some reason......

Turns out after checking out the website they are the biggest farming department out of all UK Universities!

http://www.aber.ac.uk/en/undergrad/courses/agriculture/

So there are a lot of Ags out there!!!!

P.S. my post count is 1234.....and today is 11111

I can only begin to imagine what he needs to pick up! Stay safe! (and tell JD to be careful out there!!)

Just reserved our grand gathering for September 18-24-Kidani Village. Cannot wait. We stayed at the AKL in 2002 for our very first vacation at WDW. What a great first time stay. Super excited to go back, and this time we are taking 6 others who have never been to WDW before. :wizard:

Awesome, that'll be fun:thumbsup2
I resemble that remark...
