Hey All, I'm back!:flower3:

Got home about midnight last night.

Dad did come home from the hospital while I was gone, and I have a dear friend that offered to take care of him while I was gone..She's amazing!

And, Scott came with me to WDW after all! Just late...He said there was no way possible he'd be able to go. He dropped me @ the airport @ 4am that morn, and it was so depressing, I didn't even want to go:eek: I just felt so bad for him...But I was on the ME not even 5 minutes and he said he needed to come down to meet me:lovestruc He took the 2:30pm flight the next day...So he did lose a day and a half, but there was no way we could spend more money to rearrange flights...If it was possible, I would've tried to add last night and leave today but it wasn't.

Still trying to catch up and totally exausted, ask me any questions and I'll answer:goodvibes

Wendy, you're back! Missed ya! Sorry we didn't get to meet up, we should make a plan to, the next time we're there at the same time.
You are right about it being arctic..Tuesday morn, when I woke up I checked the weather and it was 29 degrees:scared1:

I also had bad transportation karma this week:confused3 Some of it just back luck & bad timing, like I'd see a bus pulling away as we were trying to run and catch it...But some of it was just frsutrating, worst bus service I've dealt with in a long time...I am used to 15 min waits max, not 20 min being the norm:sad2:

The worst was Wed night..Since Scott didn't fly out w/me on Thurs, I cancelled my birthday dinner @ Sanaa, I was totally heartbroken:sad1: But once he arrived and we discussed plans,we rebooked it for Wed night..We were leaving Kidani about 7pm and wanted to see Illuminations again, but of course we saw Epcot bus already gone, so we figured if MK bus comes quick, we'll do that and take 2 monorails...Well, we have no idea what was happening and no CM can tell us???? WTH??? The wait was over an HOUR:scared1: for a monorail...And you couldn't leave, there's no exit, can't crawl over the sea of humanity behind you...By the time it came, we said the heck w/it and went to the bar @ GF:laughing: Figured after that long a wait I deserved vodka :rolleyes1

Hey!!!! Yeah, we should def. try to meet up next time!!! I"m SO glad to hear you dad is back home and feeling better - and I'm also glad that Scott got to come meet you after all!!!! ( You needed someone to keep you warm - it was SO COLD!!!!) ;) Glad you had a good trip despite the transportation, we heard that the monorail was shut down for over an hour one night, I guess that is the night you were talking about. - Overall the transportation was a problem, no matter where we were - we've never had any kind of problems - so this was esp. bad - since we'd never experienced anything like that. Other than that, we had a great time - Kidani was AWESOME!!!! :goodvibes

We are just home also. I kept looking for people from the Dis, but shirts were hidden behind the coats. LOL It was very, very cold. Had a great time at the DVC2 bedroom Value rooms in Jambo. We rent a car as I am in an ECV and get so upset with the people being rude while I am trying to get on/off the bus. I get so nervous I can't park the darn thing on the bus so it is easier (and less stressful) to rent a car. This time we were lucky as full sized cars at Alamo were over booked so they they told us we could take a mini-van. So Jim could just put the ECV in the back of the van and didn't need to disassemble it. Had some great meals. Yachtsmans was great but they were very snooty and rude. We have a tables in wonderland card so an 18% tip is automatically added. I would have only left 15% if we weren't on the plan:sad2:. Went to Chefs de France and loved it. :thumbsup2 We actually added some money to the tip as our waiter was so wonderful. Didn't like Chef Mickey's but loved Norway for breakfast. House of Blues was good, but not great. & That is why they make Chocolate & Vanilla. :goodvibes
My friends and their 4 1/2 year old were down at the same time. Seeing Disney through the eyes of a child make it sooooo much better I think.
I would definitely stay in the value rooms again. Penny:hippie:

Hey Penny - we kept looking for you on the bus.......... but, like you said, it was very crowded on the busses - I'm glad you ended up getting a van - I wish I'd known, I'd have ridden with you!!!! LOL Glad you had a good time!!!

It sounds like all of you who just got back had good times, albeit cold and with lousy transportation issues! I sure hope they get their act together before we get there!

10 more days!!! WHOOO HOOOO - I sure hope the weather gets warmer for you!!!! :goodvibes

I'm dancing for all you single digit dancing people!:yay::woohoo:

Well I am back from a wonderful time in the world and loved our first ever stay at the AKL.

Sorry for the delay in telling everyone about my trip but I tend to go into a post Disney depression and avoid the dis boards for a week or two after coming back.

Anyways not big into writing trip reports but will give you the low downs. Booked a standard room and during check in we were happy to hear we were upgraded to a savannah view room. CM asked if we would mind because it is the furthest room from the lobby. We were in 3595 which was at the very end and I mean very end of the trail. We were excited for the pixie dust and then it got even better. The kids really wanted bunk beds we did not even think about them again but as soon as we open the door to our room the first 2 things we see are a giraffe out our window and bunk beds.... What a great start.

We spent the first day hanging around the resort we went over to kadani and enjoyed the great pool area they have over there. Awesome water slide!

Next day things did not go so well. We got the kids all dressed and were heading to MK for rope drop. Got all the way to the lobby with my DS 4 on my shoulders and then "daddy I do not feel well" BARF!!! all over me. So we found a CM and apologized for the mess on the floor and then made the trek back to the room. Man it seemed like a long walk then and I almost wished we had gotten our standard room.

Got the youngest changed and he insisted he was feeling fine and wanted to go to the park. He looked fine had no fever so we assumed he most of gotten sick from me bouncing him around on my shoulders. So we make the trek back to the lobby and on to MK. Get thru bag check at MK and then my oldest son DS9 says he is not feeling well!!! My youngest is fine now it is the oldest . We turn around and head back to the AKL wow what a start for our park days.

Get back to the hotel kids go to sleep for a couple of hours everyone wakes up feeling great and decide they want to go to the pool for a swim. Oldest son is in the pool for a couple of hours when all of a sudden it happens..... He vomits right in the pool and on the pool deck. I felt so bad for him and then after I tell the life guard I feel so bad for everyone else as he closes the pool and asks everyone to get out. My son was so embarrassed but to the credit of the life guard he waited until my son was out of the pool and away from the scene so no one was looking at him and making him feel bad about it. They handled it very well. Sorry if you were at the pool on Monday the November 29th. It was our fault you had to leave the pool.

Anyways DW decided she would stay back in the room so that I could take my youngest to the park for the evening as it was the only time we were going to be able to see MSEP and she was wonderful for insisting I go knowing it was the one thing on my to do list for our trip and the only night we would have been able to see it.

Rest of the trip was magical really enjoyed all of the CM's we interacted with at AKL and almost bought DVC. Surprisingly it was my wife that was pushing me to buy it!! Big change as normally she is the one talking me out of big purchases. Too bad I had a rational moment and thought it thru determining that it was not right for us at this time.

Did encounter a few problems with confusion because of the system changes that effected our DDP but nothing serious. In fact I think we ended up with some extra credits some how.

Anyways this has been long winded so I will stop typing but if you have any questions let me know.

Ditto this. Poor guys.

My husband said last night that we can buy DVC next summer!:love::love:

At the moment, we are leaning towards AKV, even though it is, in his words "in the middle of nowhere". LOL.
