Yes and Yes!!!

Typically, it's warm enough in Dec. - however, it can get cold - so, really it's the luck of the draw - but we usually go in Jan./Feb. (7-8 trips now) and have been able to swim every time except once - I'd say to just check the temps before you go and you should have a good indication.

It was chilly in late December last year (NYE week) except 2 days. But, in general it is warmer - especially during the earlier part of the month.

We've gone once in January and once in December and hit BOTH of the two coldest weeks in FL's history. Sigh.

I loooooooooooove AKL and I love this thread. AKL is the most spectacular,gorgeous and unique resort! It is a destination unto itself. It is so richly themed and detailed. Every time I walk into the lobby I swoon. We were so flabbergasted when we heard there was going to be a DVC there. We bought in immediately. We gave my mom 3 nights at AKL for a surprise Christmas gift. She had never seen it and had never been to WDW. She was in complete awe! We were all so geeked checking her in and going to her room. We are staying at AKV Jambo house this December and I cannot wait!!! We have to stay at Big Daddy's house (Jambo) as it is our 1st love. We'll try Kidani next year. December seems like a million years from now.

Just wanted to say thanks to all who answered my questions about ME. I know my parents will still be a bit nervous, but it sounds like they should not have a problem finding their way around.

I just wanted to jump in and say hello!

We became DVC members at the end of May at AKL. We love Jiko so we know we'll love AKL. Our next trip is in Sept/Oct of this year for Food & Wine but unfortunately, we could not get in to AKL. We are planning 2 trips to WDW next year and know we are definitely staying at AKL for at least one of them, most likely our December trip so we can see the beautiful holiday decorations.

Thanks to all who contribute to this thread. We can't wait to stay there!

...no problem, but what you COULD do is press"ENTER" twice after you paste each photo so that they are underneath each other, not next to each other...like I did above...the pix are GREAT, BTW ~
