Well, hope this is the last of the cr*p you need to deal with for a long time! Hope DH is continuing to improve!

Had to quote this one! :)

We had a small setback this afternoon. After the speech therapist was with Bob his oxygen and blood gas levels went down so they asked his permission to re-intubate him. Hopefully it can come out again tomorrow.

We are having a snowstorm here in Northern VA and are to get 5-10 inches of snow, so I hope a hospital visit is in the cards for tomorrow. It certainly isn't there for tonight. Our school closed at 4:30 and I am home now.

Quick explanation of the pottery dinner for Button: I was heating up some leftovers in the microwave for dinner. When I took the bowl (stoneware) out of the microwave to move it to the countertop it slid right out of the potholder and smashed to the floor. Button, who is always on the lookout for a people treat was Johnny-on-the-spot and started gobbling chicken casserole before I could get the darned mitt off my hand! There were two halves of the bowl and two shards about the size of a tangerine wedge on the floor in the midst of the food. She swallowed the first shard whole and this 14 1/2 year old, 25 pound, monster-mouthed and apparently cast-iron stomach/colon bearing dog chewed the other one and swallowed it. The vet had me soak six pieces of bread in water and force her to eat them. There was no forcing. She ate all six of them and was still looking for more food. Needless to say I have been on bathroom duty for the past 24 hours and so far, the only thing I can say is it just looks a little sandy. I guess that means her system broke the rest of it down! I will keep an eye on when comes out of her today too, but... c'mon Fate: cut me a break here!

OMG...

Hopefully it was just to do with his hard work and he bounces back quickly!

Gee, your dog is ... uhm... talented!

:rotfl2: I missed a couple of day. Home today because of the snow. I have to get back to my Sister about the suites at Kidani. We are seriously thinking of booking a 3BR. There will be 8 of us so...what are our options. Separate rentals, lock offs, true 3 BR suite. I'm so happy that my sister has decided to come. They have never been to Disney before. :yay:

I'll be interested in your decision. I am also looking at booking at trip for as many as 8 of us in Aug '12. While a 3BR is tempting because they seem so neat, my sisters and I are leaning towards a 2 BR + 1 BR. The points difference is really swaying us towards the 2 separate villas.

I hope Bob is doing ok tonight!

We only got a measly 10 inches :lmao: but DH and DD now have 4 snow days. June 23rd can't come fast enough.

We got at least 12 inches - and another snow day - there's no place left to put the snow!!

They decided to put a trach in last night. Bob had insisted that I teach yesterday so I got to the hospital just as they were wheeling Bob into the OR. He came through it well, and the surgeon said he had experienced a number of firsts with Bob. He has never gone into ICU to discuss options with a patient and the family to find the patient on a ventilator, reading a book and writing notes in a steno pad. Bob actually signed his own consent form which was again a first for the surgeon!

Elin, I hope Bob will continue to be such a moel patient and will be healthy again soon!

I have started on my trip report. Most of it will be about our Panama Canal Cruise, but the installment I just posted is about or travel day and our evening at AKL with plenty of photos. So if anybody is interested, it can be found here:

Elin, sounds like Bob is doing much better, he's showing such good signs:thumbsup2 Continued hugs and prayers during this time:hug:

No word on the job search:sad2:
Called my friend @ the awful paying dept store to let her know I was still thinking about it, and she said she doesn't work there anymore...She had to up and leave, she got a government job that started right away (this past Monday) she applied for it a year ago, and it's double the money, WOW!
Anyway, she said there is a hiring freeze @ the store right now anyway, not hiring until March-April, but when they start again, it will be FT not PT...If God forbid I am still not working then, I'll think about the store again:sad2:

I called the temp agency for the heck of it, he said the company that I interview for a position with doesn't know what they are doing:confused3 Now their top priority is to replace the manager they just lost...So I'm not out of the running for the office position, but they aren't concerned with it right now.
