Is it okay to use a handicapped stall or bathroom at WDW when you're not handicapped?

And for the love of everything, the stall is NOT a changing room! It should not be used to change your little princess into her princess dress and do her hair before your reservation at CRT.

I believe I once used the HC stall to change my DD into a princess dress. Why?

1. It was the only one big enough what we needed.

2. Changing her out in the big middle of the restroom wasn't something I was comfortable with because lots of women insist on bringing in their dang near adult sons into the ladies room with them. Sorry, but I am not changing my DD when there is a decent chance a woman will bring in a boy that is a head taller than I am and who is well into puberty. Having to change in front of one of them would not be fair to my DD.

A ladies room should be for females and young boys, but all too often, it isn't. I've seen way too many boys that were a short step away from manhood, being dragged into the ladies room by their moms. The last time I was at WDW, I saw some HUGE feet standing outside my stall. I thought, "Those are the biggest freaking feet I have ever seen on a woman!" I exited the stall and there stood a "boy" about 5'7" who looked to be at least 13. Why his mother didn't take him into the stall with her is beyond me. I suppose she wanted her privacy........:sad2:

I did change my DD quickly though.

Just because I am handicapped - this does not give me first access to the handicapped stall!

In case you haven't noticed - the handicapped stall is the only stall where a Mom can take her stroller (& other children) to use the bathroom. Should she park the stroller outside a small stall while she uses the bathroom? No way!

The baby changing stations are quite often put into the handicapped stalls. There is no room for them elsewhere.

The handicapped stalls do not have the initials of only the handicapped people on them. Others need that stall also. That handicapped sign on the stall simply tells me which stall I should wait for. I am not given "first in line" privileges!

I am not always in my chair but I still need the HA stall for the higher seat and/or rails. a wheelchair is not the sole prerequisite for need of use of a HA stall...

Same here. After having two hip replacement surgeries. I like the higher toilets better because they make it more easier for me to get up, and down. It makes it easier on my hips too as they don't hurt as much.

I love the high toilets for the same reason - sometimes I almost get stuck on the lower ones. Just the thought of that makes me :scared: I don't look disabled, don't feel it most of the time, but after hours on my bad leg, which makes me put more stress on my bad hip on the other side, I don't go down and up so gracefully :rotfl:

So yes, it is OK to use the accessible stall even if you are not in a wheelchair, scooter, or using another form of mobility device.
