We will be in WDW December 6-13. I see that the MVMCP tickets have gone on sale. I was thinking of going on the 9th. Is it necessary to buy my tickets now or can I wait until I get to Disney. I don't want them to sell out, but I also don't want to put out the money now if I don't need to. Thanks:D

I don't think you have to buy them right this minute, but I definitely wouldn't wait until you get to WDW. MVMCP generally sells out in advance and I'd hate to see you shut out. I'd get the tickets as soon as possible.

If you really want to go to MVMCP. I would go ahead and purchase the tiks. This event is very popular and often sells out.

Last year we waited until the last minute to buy tickets and we had only about 5 days to choose from. I would for sure think about getting them soon if you need a certain day.

Thanks for asking the question. I also will be there those dates, and wondering about MVMCP on December 9. I'm also wondering-if you buy your tickets from home don't you pay a few dollars less thatn if you wait til you're there? And is the higher ticket price just at the gate? Which rate do you pay if you buy your ticket at the hotel-pre-sale or gate price?

I do not think that the 9th will sell out, that is a Tues. night and should be a light crowd. If a Fri. night was your only opportunity to attend, than I would buy in advance for a Fri. night party. Fri. nights tend to sell out.

I would wait until the 8th to see what the weather prediction was for the 9th. If buckets of rain are predicted there is a good chance that the parades and fireworks will be cancelled (if the rain actually happens) at your party. Buying from your hotel a day in advance still gets you the pre-sale price. Perhaps even the morning of would, but I'm not sure about that. You could go on Thurs. night instead (11th) if weather is looking bad for the 9th. Is the 7th (Sunday night) not an option for you? Sunday nights tend to be quite uncrowded. If Sunday was great weather I would go then, never know what may happen the rest of the week.

We went to WDW the first week of Dec. 2002. I had purchased our MVMCP tickets way in advance. We just got lucky that I had picked the "right night", Dec. 3rd (tues.). The weather predicted for the week picked Tues. night as a good night. Another night that week got washed out, no parades or fireworks. I will always wait until the last min. to buy my tickets now, unless I can only make it for a Fri. night (buy those in advance). Happy planning.

Is the 7th (Sunday night) not an option for you?

Unfortunately, the 7th does not seem to be one of the options. Perhaps they will add the date later, but who knows with Disney ;) . I think I am going to purchase the tickets now just to be safe. That seems to be the consensus on the boards. It is my mom's first trip and our first time at X-mas, so I don't want to miss it. Plus, that is one more thing I can pay for in advance. Thanks again for all the info.

I got the dates for MVMCP off of www.wdwig.com and the 7th was listed. Either a typo or it has been added. If you did buy for the 7th and got rained out, perhaps Disney would offer you tickets to the 9th or 11th instead. That is what they did last year. Best wishes.

Just to ease your mind a bit...I was one of the unfortunate ones to be at a rained out MVMCP. Guest relations offered either a one day park hopper or a refund at City Hall that night. I believe others who attended were able to mail in wristbands in order to get the same.

I have always made that decision when I am down there and have never had a problem getting tickets..........I like doing special things impromptu... you do run a risk of not being able to attend if it does sell out..... but I have gone twice and both times bought tickets when I got there...
