Hi! We’ll be Gold castaway members for the first time on our next cruise and we were hoping to book a cabana. In the past they were all gone by the time we got to book anything. Do you think we’ll have a chance now that we’re Gold? We’ll be at Castaway Cay and we don’t want the adult only area. There’s six of us including two kids. Thanks for any info!

Slim, but you never know. It's possible that not all Concierge guests - or Pearl or Platinum - wanted them. I've gotten a Serenity Bay one as a Gold member sailing on the Magic over Presidents' Week when things opened for booking (my dad was nearing hip replacement surgery so the home base was nice - not 100% necessary but nice). So it can happen. But I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Our recent Magic sailing, Lookout cabanas were showing sold out from very early on. Then, randomly, about 35 days out several adults Cabanas dropped. Two days later, it was several family cabanas.

I assume DCL was holding them back for some reason and eventually released. Of course, that's also a small ship with family Cabanas in a less desirable location at Lookout...

We've sailed 15 times and not once have I seen an available cabana. Since we don't have kids most of them were in the off season as well. You may get lucky, but we haven't yet!

FWIW we've also never been able to upgrade at port either though we've tried...now that Pearls (and folk arriving via Disney transportation) get the earlier PATs, I doubt we ever will, but maybe some day...

We were able to book one, about 2 weeks in advance of our cruise. I happened to see it by chance, just by being online checking for info on a tour. This was on Serenity Bay, at LC, HA cabana F. I'm not sure if they hold that back for someone who actually needs it, then release it if no one does, or if someone just canceled. But either way, it was possible.

I’m a pearl. There are never any available when I can book which it - couple days after concierge. But they offer a waitlist once onboard. I have scored them like that before
Hi lorimay, may I ask you how/where you can get on a waitlist for a cabana once onboard? Thank you! :)

They absolutely do hold them back for late concierge bookings and release if they remain unbooked sometime 1-4 weeks before the sailing. We have been on sailings where there are fewer concierge rooms booked than there are cabanas, and no cabanas were available on the booking dates for pearl, platinum etc. But then a couple weeks before sailing a large number of cabanas (7 on one cruise, 9 on another cruise) became available all at once.

I randomly saw some cabanas available at Castaway Cay for a 4 night cruise on the Dream from Fort Lauderdale in November 2024. It was a couple weeks out from the sail date and I was just looking at port activities. They must have just been released because they had several adult and family cabanas. I attributed it to the fact that it was not a very popular cruise - Nassau and CC on an older ship departing from Fort Lauderdale in early November during a time when the hype was all about the Treasure and Lookout Cay. I had booked the cruise sometime after the pay in full dates because they had great guaranteed rates.

What ship? You have a small chance with the Magic and Wonder, no shot with the larger ships.

We’re on the Fantasy in July. Thinking we’ve got no chance after seeing most of the responses but I’ll look when we’re a few weeks out. Thanks everyone!

Although you never know... we did score a cabana on our Wish sailing in March with the ship being 100% full during spring break~2 weeks before our sailing. I was looking on the app, in the right place at the right time. It's probably a unicorn, but it can happen! :)

Yeah, there's always a chance you get lucky and check at the right time.
