Is it pretty much impossible to get a Grand Villa at OKW if you own somewhere else (SSR)?

I noticed the Grand Villas are really cheaper (point wise) at OKW (45 pts per night during the week during Dream Season) compared to other resorts (SSR is 79 pts per night during the week during Dream Season).

I own 150 pts at SSR...and we are planning on going to WDW in 2010 with two other families of 4 (total of 12 of us). I would much rather use 225 pts at OKW for 5 nights rather than 395 pts at SSR for the same 5 nights.

I noticed that OKW only has 27 GV's compared to SSR's 36 GV. We will probably be traveling the first week in June 2010. I was just curious to find out if anyone had any experience with trying to get a GV at OKW at the 7 month mark....

Any other suggestions? I noticed that it would be cheaper to get a 1BR and 2BR at SSR (56 pts per night) vs a GV (79 pts per night).

I also thought about possibly renting OKW pts from an OKW owner for that reservation and then renting out the same amount of my SSR points at the same price to sort of "break even". Is all that trouble worth it?

Thanks,
Speed :teleport:

I've been reading the boards here consistently since I've joined and I've only read once or twice where someone got an OKW GV and didn't own there.

So the chances are slim.

We were able to get one this summer from third week in July and we own at SSR. Just be sure and call in the moment they open at the exact 7 month mark.

I know someone who got one for Spring Break week a couple of years ago at the 6 month mark with his HH points so it is not impossible. A lot depends on the time of year you want to go. We have done both the GV and a 2BR/studio option also. Evaluate the group and sleeping arrangements and see which will really work the best for you. Things to consider are who gets the master BR(usually the one with the points) but not always. In my friend's case the MB was for his SIL since she can't do stairs due to MS and the pull out sofa was also not an option. Good luck.
