Is it horrible to rent out your points/reservations?

I also never want to rent my points, I want to use them!! However, when we purchased our BCV points, there were too many to use this year, as we were also using our BWV points. I was able to rent to a GREAT person, who paid promptly and was wonderful to deal with in every respect. That transaction paid for 1/2 of our down payment. I plan to rent a few more points next year, but only because we already had non-WDW vacation plans. It's a wonderful bit of flexibility you should be proud to have and unashamed to use.

At this time I am not a DVC member but hope to be in the near future. Tomorrow I leave for a trip to OKW on points rented from a member. I love staying in the DVC rooms and you all know why! If it weren't for rental's I probably would not ever stay in a DVC Resort. I feel renting points is a benefit for both parties as long as the rules are followed and not abused.

I hope to never have to rent points but as we all know, stuff happens. I agree this is one of the benefits of DVC and Disboards as long as people are fair and honest.

I had an extremely positive experience renting points. I bought re-sale and don't own as much as we ( party of 6) need for every year 7 night visits.

We used PayPal and everything.. fellow member - worked it all out with member services.. i was relieved people have points to rent!!!
