Is it December Yet?? Cancelled with a Heavy Heart!

I loved the 2008 pics

Addy dancing around was the cutest pic.

I love Anthony's face in the pic where you all are pointing at Stitch in the ground

yay for that CM turning the end of your trip into great experience :wizard:

Thanx Kelly!!

That was a really fun trip just for watching Addy & Anthony. We spent a lot of time out in the esplanade (between the parks) & them running circles around the monorail beams. They had so much fun doing that....it was our escape from the massive crowds.

The "Suit" was awesome!! :yay:

Aww, that story about Minnie and Addy is so cute. How nice of the CM to do that. That is what makes Disney so special!

Looks like you guys had a great trip despite the crowds and rude people.

I agree, that Snow White fits the part really well. :goodvibes

Even when we have bad moments at Disneyland....we still can find so much good & magical to make it all worth it. We're not a fan of spring breaks, but when you're dealing with school schedules & you really, REALLY want to go.....you end up with busier times & chances of not stellar moments......lol Luckily we got that extra boost of pixie dust when we needed it the most!!

I think as long as you have a general idea of what to expect for crowds for the time of year you go, you can have a magical time. You just gotta keep your spirits up and know when to move on to the next thing. :)

Very true....this was our first spring break trip.....so we were shocked at the amount of people....still pretty new to Disneyland trips at this point and after such a magical first trip in 2005.....our expectations were very high & probably unrealistic. But now our feet are securely on the ground & we're much more prepared no matter what time of year we go.

So I've been looking at the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Cruise vs the Wishes Dessert Party. Any input on these two options would be greatly appreciated.

I know on the Christmas Party night, we'll see the fireworks from around the castle. We have 2 other nights and thought it would be fun to do a special viewing.

Has anyone watched the fireworks from any of the boats??? Just wondering if the view is amazing from that vantage point or will we be disappointed??

Personally I've heard the Fireworks cruises are pretty awesome and I would try for that! The Dessert Party I've heard still gets crowded at the front and the desserts are Meh... Also the view is from the side... Not sure how the view is from the cruise though either...

Sorry... no help! Lol

I saw the view was from the side.....I thought that was strange.....but I've never been there, so wasn't for sure on the set up.

I think doing a fireworks cruise would be fun & the Pirates one includes characters.....so bonus!!

Thanx for the input Paula!!

I have heard of viewing Wishes from Tomorrowland, but these cruises are news to me....they sound like a lot of fun though!

Just checked the price on that....yeah, probably will have to pass unless more money magically appears! Haha.

We did not do the Pirates & Pals Cruise, just the "regular" Wishes cruise on a boat we shared with two other Dis families. It was really nice. I think the best part for me was being in the water with the Water Pageant. The view of the fireworks is good ... centered with the Castle on the water.

I always recommend that the first time someone sees Wishes it is from Main Street though. There are so many effects on the Castle itself that are missed if you are not there. But I am sure you know that from Disneyland!

We did the dessert party last year and really liked it. Yes, the view is to the side, but we always see Wishes several times a trip so that was Ok with us. The desserts are ok. Best part for us was a quietish place to sit and talk while waiting as opposed to being on Main Street with the masses. I am hoping to do the party again this year if they ever open the August dates!

We have also really enjoyed watching the fireworks from the Polynesian Beach. Again, a totally different perspective. They do pipe in the music and you can see the water pageant as well. Are you considering eating at 'Ohana? If so, you could then go out to the beach, give the kids time to run around a bit and see the fireworks from there. (And FWIW, we love, love, LOVE 'Ohana ... a must do for us every trip!)

EDITED TO ADD: Ok, now you have me looking at that Cruise! Now to figure out how to fit it in to our schedule!

I have tears in my eyes with your daughter's special visit from Minnie Mouse. So so sweet.

I can't speak to the Pirates & Pals cruise, but I have been on a private little pontoon boat that was 'parked' next to the pirate boat during Wishes. People seemed to be having fun on it! It is a neat perspective to see the show from the lake. But as a PP stated, I would make sure your first viewing of Wishes is from inside the park to get the full experience.

We are going to book a Wishes dessert party for Dec. People seem to rave about it and Tinker Bell flies right above you! Plus, you get dessert. How can that be bad? haha. It appears (judging from a thread about the dessert party) that tickets become available about 2 months prior. They sell out FAST. This is thread I am talking about.

No, they're not cheap....but we have 8 people.....so it doesn't look as bad when would fill up a boat anyways.....lol

We do plan on watching it from the castle....but we'll have 2 more nights to maybe do something different. I like the idea of both the cruise & the dessert party. Who knows, maybe plan for both & hope we get one of them!!

The Minnie moment was very special & something we'll remember forever!!

The reason I thought the pirates one sounded fun was getting to see a few characters as well as going out on the boat & seeing the fireworks & water pageant. Otherwise, I'm not sure we'd ever see the water pageant.

The dessert seating was the first thing I read up on......can you see the effects on the castle from there?? I think the kids would love to see Tink right about their heads!!

Thanx for the link....guess I should go check that out!!

Yes, you can. A bit off to the side, but you can see the Magic & Memories show and the Castle effects. You cannot really see any of the night parade from the seating area. And Tink is really cool!

So I could use suggestions on the best places to see Illuminations from (I see there's a boat cruise for that as well). Keep in mind that the twins won't do well being tightly crowded, Addy & Anthony will need to be able to see over adults & even I deal with anxiety with large crowds. We want to be able to see the visuals being shown on the globe. Picky aren't we.......lol :rotfl:

Really anywhere around the World Showcase. But it does get crowded. Best advice is to get there early and stake your claim to a spot right on the railing! Lay down blankets and get comfy with some snacks! Actually just thought of something ... when you get the GAC, do you also use the stoller as a wheelchair? I believe there are special handicapped viewing areas. Hopefully someone else will chime in on that.

Best spot is right in the middle across the lake from the American Adventure. But really there isn't a bad view anywhere. Many people like the bridge between France and the UK pavillions but we have never watched from there so I can't say what the view of the Globe is like.
