Is it cheating?

Can you guys help me with this...

We are a party of 6 (4 adults and two high chairs). Because of the difficulty in getting reservations I had to reserve some as a party of 4 instead of 6 hoping that when we show up for our reservation they can just accommodate us with two high chairs. Is this a plausible idea or are they going to give me a hard time? Thanks

They probably will, but probably depends. We had 5 booked, and DH' cousins joined us twice last trip and we showed up at ohana and BOG with 7 and they sat us no problem.

I would see narc as the biggest issue, the restaurant is not very large

The only place I wouldn't do this is at Victoria and Albert's. That is a so specialized dining experience that it would be a big no-no.
Otherwise, as others have said above, go for it. No moral points will be deducted. ;)

We are a party of 2, but can only find reservations for 4 at several of our desired restaurants/times. Though it is my understanding I won't be charged if I make the reservation for 4 and only 2 show up, but this makes me feel icky [lying intentionally]. Has anyone else done this? Is it frowned upon? Should I just do it and be happy I got the times/locations I want?
