We have just bought OKW through disney and are thniking of adding points on. (I truley think it is a sickness) Would it be better to add on at OKW or a differnt resort? BCV, BWV, AKV

It depends upon how you want to use those points. If you want to stay at AKV every other year, and want to have the ability to book during the 11 month window there, get the add-on there. For instance, if there is a room you want at AKV every other year that takes 150 points, you can buy 75 points at AKV, bank and borrow every other year to reach your total of 150 needed for the reservation, and book it during the 11 month window.

If you want to stay primarily at OKW then add on at OKW.

If you do not plan your trips until the 7 month window, it doesn't matter where your add-on points are located. Just be sure they have the same use year, so they can be easily blended ay that 7 month window.

If buying through Disney, and not resale, they will have the same use year.

I made my decision to add on at my existing resort....because I wanted all my points in one place....I felt it gave me the most flexibilty. If I want to plan a lg trip....or trade.....

We have all points at OKW but have stayed at other resorts through the years. It gets down to price you want to pay and if booking 11 months out is a issue. Some resorts have higher demand and you need to do the 10 or 11 months out to get those special holiday times. We start think about our return soon as we get back. We are booking our March /April now and getting the weeks organized with other going with us.

Welcome to "addonitis"!

Once we had enough in OKW to do a contiguous stay of 3 weeks in a studio (we don't have kids, so studios do us fine), we added on enough at SSR for 2 weeks stay there in most seasons.

Generally, we don't want to be checking in and out of home resorts a lot - and this way we can book our home resorts at the 11-month windows and not worry about contiguous stays that are less than 2 or 3 weeks at a given resort.

I would say if you are completely new to the resorts you can't know the answer to the question until you have visited at least a couple others. You just don't know which resort is going to WOW you the most until you've been there. I didn't even comprehend VB when we bought BWV in 98, but VB it is my WOW place. So far it hasn't been a problem, but VB & HHI are generally easier at 7 months than most of the WDW resorts. JMHO

1. What is the best resort to try a 7 month ressie?
2. What is the best time of year to try a 7 month at BCV, BWV, AKL, VWL?
