the only reason why Zac Efron in the first High School Musical didn't use his voice was because it was a little bit lower than the rest of the cast, but he sang the begining and end of all the songs, and when he was singing to gabriella on the deck. He will do ALL of his own singing in HSM 2

but yeah most disney channel stars sing they lip sing every now and then but not often but all singers that perform must lip sing at some time or another

yes, his voice was blended with singer Drew Seeley, drew also took the part of Zac in the high school musical concert.

I am pretty sure that when they air a concert or performance on the Disney Channel, they actually sang. They play the CD version over it instead because they sometimes miss a note here or there. If you go online, you can watch videos of them actually singing live.
