Is Frances expected to hit Florida?

I'm leaving for WDW in about a week, so naturally I'm watching the weather reports but I can't find anything that says if it WILL or WON'T hit central Florida.

Now that I have bitten all my nails off just thinking about flying during a storm/hurricane/tornado/whatever, do any of you know that status of Frances. When, and if, it will hit Florida?

It looks like it could, but it is too soon to tell.

If it does, maybe this weekend?

But again, it's still too soon to tell. Just keep watching the weather.

I just watched the latest update and I'm starting to get concerned. :(

Here is the "projected" path, but things can still change. Apparently, there is a high pressure system that is pushing the hurricane to the West and another high pressure system is supposed to move in from the North which will possibly keep the hurricane moving West. It all depends on how soon that second pressure system moves South. Floyd missed FL in 1999 because there was a low pressure system moving the hurricane away from us, this time it is the opposite.

Gosh! If it stays in the middle of the path it';s headed right towards WDW! :earseek: :earseek:

Check out www.weatherunderground.com.

Every computer model they have shows a high potential for an east coast strike.

yippee.

And not to ruffle anyone's feathers, but at times like this, DW means very litle, if anything to me.

Buuuuuuuuuuut on a lighter note, every 3/4/5 august hurricane in the last 100 years that approximate's Frances' track has turned north out to sea. Hopefully this time too.

At the very least, the waves are gonna' be rippin' in about 2 days.

I guess we're about due. (We missed Charley but only because it went NorthEast, and not NorthWest.) Our last big one would've been Opal.. I think! 9 years ago. So I guess we'll sit tight and ride out the storm. We live across the street from the bay.. :earseek:
