Greetings from Kansas! I've been a lurker of these boards for quite a while now....eagerly sucking up all the wonderful information you all are gracious enough to share . Thanks for all the fabulous tips and tidbits! I only wish I'd found you before our first trip to the World (with children) last November, but luckily...

I'm planning a another family trip for December (we had so much fun the last time, and you all are so right about not being able to "do it all" that we felt we just had to return), and we are planning on attending MVMCP! I've read in several posts that for the two previous years MVMCP guests were allowed to stay in Tomorrowland before the rest of the park was opened for the party. My question is this: Is everything in Tommorowland opened during this transition time...specifically, is Cosmic Ray's opened? We are planning on being at MK early, but the kids will need something to eat to give them energy for the evening's festivities. I know several of you make a PS for LTT (or another restaurant) before MVMCP, and we might still consider that, but I doubt our four children (3,6,8, and 9) will enjoy a sit-down meal this particular evening as much as my husband and I would. This will be one of our first nights on vacation (and our first at MK), and I have a feeling that the kids will be anxious to explore and see it all right away! Grabbing a bite to eat at Cosmic Ray's might just be the best compromise for us. Do you think everyone else will have the same idea?? We're planning on eating at the Crystal Palace another day, as well as a few other character meals during our stay.

Thanks in advance to everyone for your great advice! I love it here!

Last year, I believe Cosmic Ray's was open. Space Mountain closed for a short time while they cleared it. Buzz was open. Not sure about Alien, TTA & Speedway.

Last December we did exactly what I think you are looking to do...took advantage of the time before MVMCP to grab dinner at Cosmic Rays. They were open, but, to our surprise, with a somewhat limited menu. They were not offering the Family Chicken meal where you buy a chicken and side dishes to share.
We were afraid they had stopped offering it, but, found out, it was only the night of MVMCP.
