I chose early October to escape the crowds, but there are LOTS of threads around here about hotels being sold out and ADR's being hard to come by and luggage tags arriving and '"it's getting close".... What the heck?! Is it just that us DIS'ers are all smart and go at the same time when the crowds stay away? I hope so!

Yes, as a matter of fact I am going in October and so is my mother. There will be 10 of us ranging in age from 3 to 58!!! Four Fridays from now I will be at the airport checking in!!! :goodvibes

Between the MNSSHP and the Food and Wine festival...Oct is a hot time of year to go...and it is not the most expensive

HAHAH that was hysterical

Yes I think that there will be crowds this year in October. Disney did that Free dining thing and it is the food and wine festival, not to mention the weather will be better. I think after this year we are going to have change our annual dates again. Maybe we will change to the end of feb and march..

Don't worry we are a just a very small part of the Disney guest population. You'll be fine but ADRs are up b/c of FREE Dining program introduced for this period (until Oct 4th). The restaurants will likely be more full but not necessarliy the parks.

You'll have a blast regardless! I plan to. :sunny:

I am in the guest service business here in Orlando and I can tell you by the amount of hotels that are sold out and advance purchase sales on tickets that "YES" everyone is coming in October, and they are bringing their mother, and their father, and their brother, and his kids, and some of their friends. According to an overseas tour operator I spoke to it is going to be a record year for Orlando in October. I can't wait to see.

DD, DH and I will be there but Mom is staying home (at least one less person at the parks!). I am wondering the same thing about crowds as many of the hotels are sold out the last week of the month.

Oh I can !

Yep, I'm coming in October, and I'm bringing my mother! :rotfl: (And my father, too!)

The whole month or just the beginning???
I'm going after "free dining" after Columbus Day, the last week of MNSSHP and toward the end of F&W. The Gartner Conference ends two days into our trip and I beleive we're at the end of one martial arts comp and the last two days are the start of the other, so I'm hoping to miss a lot of people, but I am planning for the worst.

I guess there's no need to worry, what will be will be..

My mother isn't going...but my husband's is! :teeth:

We're going with ILs. FIL has a conference, and we are taking advantage of the timing being fantastic and going to F&W, MNSSHP and meeting some friends as well.

35 days, hooray!

Us and the IL's! Looking forward to a great trip the 23rd through the 29th!

We will be there in Oct and I only wish my mom would be there with us. She died two years ago Oct. 6. She loved everything Disney but never got to to go Disneyworld. I would give anything to have her there to see my 3 yr's old face light up when she sees the castle.

I'm going and I am the Mother. I'm bringing my DD17 for a girls trip to celebrate her Birthday (it was officially yesterday) at MNSSHP. She's hoping to see Maleficent at the party.

We will be there 10/6-10/9. Then the whole family will be back with the mouse for Her Graduation Extravaganza in May!

I look forward to seeing everyone there. I'll be wearing my fanny pack with the Home Depot Sonic Green Ears on it!

We will be a party of 4 and yes, my mom will be comming with us. Hope everyone has a great time. I have all of our ADR's made and can't wait to stay at Pop. This will be my first time onsite.

Oh no! :scared:
