Is EBCI available for booking AirTran through SW site?

I have points to use up so I have to book through Southwest.com but the AirTran times seem so much better (still waiting on May 6th for our actual dates). Am I able to opt for the EBCI OOP for an AirTran flight or not?

Air Tran does not offer EBCI at this time. They actually assign seats, but I believe the check in is still at 24 hours.

I am doing SW and one of my legs is Air Tran. So it talked about checking in at 24 hours unless you had SW first then they would check you in at 24 hours. (I have EBCI for my flights and it was on my itinary that EBCI did not apply to Air Tran)

Airtran assigns seats, BUT, if you book them via the SW site, you won't be able to prepay for assigned seats. Your only option will be to get your seat assignment when you check in at the 24 hour mark or later when you check in.

PP is correct. I just switched flight to MCO to a Airtran booked through SW because I could check-in at the 24 hour mark online (at SW.com). I left my flight home from MCO with SW because of the EBCI 36 hr check in that is not available if I booked the Airtran through SW.

Nope I have an ongoing thread about this. You cannot pre assign seats or buy ebci when you book AirTran through southwest
