Is Disney worth it?

It sure is worth it, we do most of our trips that way. We aren't very far south of Atlanta and do it a couple times a year. I-75 is not bad if you drive over night.

We usually head out around midnight and arrive early enough to check in, get a bite of breakfast and head to EMH at DHS on Saturday morning, then we head home on Sunday or Monday after lunch.

If you get APs and go several times, sure. But because single or two day tickets are so much more expensive, I wouldn't do it as my only trip- which is how I was interpreting OP.

We've done it with and without AP's. We are now elig for the Military tickets, so we will do it that way, but we don't have children.

It all depends on what it's really worth to each person, for us it is. Some people go gamble, some people hit the beach, we do Disney.

I am thinking about taking a weekened trip to Disney in September. I am coming from Atlanta and I would drive down late Friday night and come home Monday (labor day weekened). I am unable to leave out any earlier than that. I am a teacher so I am only able to travel during certain times throughout the year and my husband is a landscaper so summers and spring break is out of the question for us. I am unable to take anytime off of work in the month of September and I do not want to go in the winter (which is really the best time for us because of our jobs) because it is cold. Do you think it is worth it to drive those hours just for a couple of days?

Hard to say without knowing some more background? Is this your first trip to WDW? If so, I'd advise against going for such a short time on such a busy weekend--I think you'd come home hating Disney.

If you go a lot (relatively) such that you would be fine with missing out on quite a bit this particular trip, then I'd say go fot it.

If its not your first trip heck yeah go for it. Im in SC and have annual passes. Although my work schedule is a little more free than yours. Im a RN and work 3 12hr shift. I regularly work m,t,w and head down to Disney for Th,Fri and Sat and come home sunday. I do this a few times a year. I do however look for cheaper hotels if Im not using my DVC points since those room costs can add up. I got the Hilton in DTD for 79 a night on Lastminutetravel.com in March so Im gonna head down for 4 days then.
