There was a rumor that CoP would go down for "maintenance" (ie, closed forever) after Stich opened. Then there was another rumor from Jim Hill's site that said they might keep it open one more year to celebrate Disneyland's 50th.

I will be in MK a week from Sunday and I hoping to see this grand old lady of an attraction one more time before they get rid of it. Does anybody know if it is still open and if they plan to keep it open through the holiday season?

Not sure about COP, but Timekeeper was closed when I went by it and Stitch on Monday PM.

I was at MK a couple weekends ago (think it was 11/6) and CoP was open...we even decided to see the show because it had been a couple years since we last saw it.

CoP was open on the 6th,7th,8th,and 9th of November. Saddly, not too many guests visiting the show.:(

Historically CoP closes more in the off seasons. During the summer months it's going all day/night and plays to packed houses.
I sure hope it doesn't go under the wrecking ball--there are so few of the original attractions left that a sense of history is lost when they are rehabbed.

***"It was closed when we visited in October."***

We were there Oct 16-24th and it was open.

Just got back (11/13 - 21) and COP was open but Timekeeper was not.

CoP was open on 11/18. Timekeeper was closed. Stitches Great Escape isn't really good, I'd rather go on CoP.

Actually, when was the last time any one saw Timekeeper open? The last 6 visits we made, no dice. There were benches in front of the door.:(

Thanks for the replies all. Looks like there is a good chance I will get one more Ride on the Carousel before it finally ends its 40 years of revolutions, making progress "with every turn".

As for Timekeeper, they almost never open it anymore. There is a rumor going around that it might be opened one last time for the last 2 weeks of December, and then TimeKeeper and Nine Eye will be evicted fromTomorrowland forever.

I can't remember if we saw TK in May or Dec '03, but definitely one of those dates. I can't figure way it's "seasonal". It doesn't appear to require more then 2-3 CM's. There doesn't seem to be too much to maintain. Maybe the projection system is expensive to operate or possibly TK and 9 eyes require expensive repair. I guess to me it doesn't look like that big a expense to make it worth closing, especially in an area that is desperate for attractions.

We were in MK 10/11-10/18. CoP was open and we road it, maybe for teh last time (hopefully not). During the "Mickey's-not-so-scary" halloween party, complimentary pictures were being taken "in" Timekeeper. Timekeeper the automatron was not looking so hot watching the events.

I don't understand why TK gets short shrift. It's a quality attraction with a ride that actually has a measurable IQ. The Jules Verne/HG Wells connection fascinated our kids and led them to read into both authors. Does anyone know why it's treated like a stepchild in a fairy tale?

"Theres a great big beauutiful tommarow....standing at the end of every day....."

....unless its a tommorw without CoP! Another of my favorite attractions going down. I'm bummin!

We will be down on the 6th ... we hope it is open while we are there

I absolutely love this ride - everytime I think about it I get the song in my head for hours. It just feels so Disney when you go on it. I'm determined to sneak my camcorder on there before it shuts down and record it all but I'm always to scared - dont want to be thrown out :guilty:

CoP was open in October when we visited. It was nice to take my mom to see something that Walt had put together, since it's been closed every other time she's visited with us. DKs (4 & 6) love it. Niece and nephew enjoyed CoP when we were there in July for grand gathering. They've been to WDW every year of their lives and have never seen it! I was happy to be able to share it with them and would hate to see the attraction go away.

Greetings from the Boardwalk. The CoP was open on Saturday Nov 27th, as was Timekeeper (much to my shock). I got to ride both attractions that day. On the 28th, CoP was up, but Timekeeper was shut down again.

It was great seeing the CoP again, but it is on its last legs. In the 50's scene, the father's mouth never moved, leabing the impression that he had become a ventrilisquest. The carousel also refused to rotate once (we watch the same scene twice) and the sound is spotty at best. Still, I'm just glad I got tol see it onew more time.
