Is Cinderellas Royal Table worth the hefty price?

I have heard mention of this but where is it listed that tip is included. I checked the 2008 dining guide an no where does it list except Hoop De Do that gratuities are not included? Is it in writing somewhere ? :confused3

Disneyfan2 - I printed out the 2008 dining plan brochure to take with me. On page 2 under Character Dining, it reads...

"Please note: Two Table Service meals for each person dining at CRT will be redeemed from your meal plan balance. Gratuities are included"

I'm taking it with me because another thread about this has posts from people who were asked to pay a tip.

not to get flamed, but isnt all food at WDW overpriced? so then for me, to eat in "The Castle" is worth it. the food may be better at 1900, but its not in the The castle. Now the last time we went, DW was preggers and ended up vomitting the rest of the night and went to the ER, but it was worth it and we would go back.

Great idea, i intend on doing the same thing. Thanks

We haven't eaten at CRT since DS and DD were small and when I made the ressie today for a June lunch, I was a bit taken back by the price. Can you tell me for lunch, do you see characters and have the picture? Most of the previous posters talk about breakfast and dinner. Thanks Much.

for those of you who have gotten to visit Cinderella multiple times in a trip (CRT, Toontown, 1900 Park Fare, etc)...did your younger children ever notice that Cinderella may "look different" each time? The princess part of WDW is my DD4's favorite part, and I just don't know if she's old enough to realize that they are different CMs "playing the part" of Cinderella. This obviously goes for any princess...but I figured this was just a good a place to post this question as any.

Thanks.

Based on my experiences at CRT for breakfast, I would rather go to Restaurant Akheraus or 1900 Park Fair.

The price difference is $13 dollars less for 1900 for breakfast, and I feel that there are more options to chose from, and that the food is better. Sure, you don't get to eat in the castle, but to me, I would rather have the food :)

Last trip we saw Cinderella several times and my DD 4 did not notice a difference. Even with the photos we have with 3 different Cindy's she still did not notice :)

It's funny you ask this, as I will be there in April, and I expect my DD6 (though probably not my DD4) will definitely notice this. Last summer, we went to a smaller, local theme park that included their version of "Cinderella's Castle", and we visited "Cinderella"... a kind teen girl, presumably working a summer job who, regrettably, had a darker shade of hair.

First thing DD6 says when we leave the castle? "When are we going to visit the real Cinderella with the yellow hair?"

Granted, the differences of one CM to the next might be more subtle than a clear oversight of hair color, but I suspect she'll still notice, she's pretty good with details like that princess:

For our family trip in December we opted for 1900 Park Fare (dinner) and Akershus (breakfast) over one meal at CRT.

HOWEVER, for dd's birthday trip (7yo) this summer, it will be just her and I and we will be doing CRT for breakfast in addition to 1900 Park Fare and Akershus. This trip is ALL about her so I'm bumping us up to the Deluxe DDP and doing all three Princess meals.

I'll be able to compare them all after we come back.

There are some things that are worth the price at Disney just for the experience and the ambience. Eating in the Castle with the Disney Princesses is one of those experiences.

I have eaten in the castle and the experience was wonderful. We had a window seat and it was just totally cool to be in the castle! But, I didn't not enjoy the food. So for me it was an experience I'm glad I did but probably will not do it again.

thanks for your replies on the "different CM's playing Cinderella" question. I brought it up, because we had a similar experience here at home a year ago: a local kid's toy store had an "Ariel meet&greet" with Ariel reading stories and taking photos, etc. I was shocked when a brunette came out of the back room! Same as you - very nice, everything was great...but she just looked nothing like one would think Ariel would look like. Not a big deal, but still curious how my daughter will react next year!!

I noticed difference CM's in the parades, but she didn't say anything this last trip. Fingers crossed for '08!

DW, DS5, and I did dinner in June of '07. We were on DDP and had to burn 2 TS credits apiece to do it. When we checked in, Cinderella was there for a photo op, which is delivered before the meal is out. The pic with the princess and our "prince" is one of the great souvenirs of the trip. The meal was good. TFG was on hand to work the room along with Cindy's two helper mice.

She pointed out both a Disneymoon couple and the family that had one the suite that night. It was fun. Eating in the castle is most certainly worth the experience. I wouldn't go every trip, but its certainly worthwhile to do at least once.

When I called back they told me that people NOT on DDP were charged the tip at time of booking and poeple on the plan had to leave the tip ...VERY comfused.... I need to call again and speak to a surpervisor??:confused3

According to the 2008 Deluxe Dining brochure that I have (in PDF format), under Character Dining on the second page:

Two meals for each person dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table will be redeemed from your meal plan balance. Gratuities are included.

So I would make sure that you aren't charged a separate gratuity if you are on the dining plan.

I think it is worth it. We went for breakfast the morning before our wedding. My DS6 wasn't thrilled at 1st, but he had a ball. I thought the food was excellent and the service was wonderful. Didn't feel rushed at all and the server had no problem bringing me lots more fruit and my DS lots more bacon :rotfl:
We would definately go again. The price also includes tip and your pictures with Cinderella downstairs. :lovestruc

I seen to think maybe something changed in 2008 and no one is quite sure what is going on..... I need to call again

Are the pictures you take with Cinderella included in the price for breakfast or do you pay seperately for them? I thought I read somewhere that the pictures come with it.
