I have a cruise booked for July 11 and something has come up :( My husband, daughter, and I are in one room. My mother in law and step daughter is in a second room. Is it possible for my husband to move into the other room (and pay the extra if needed) and my daughter and I change dates (pay extra if needed)?

I would call DCL asap. I believe there will be a penalty for the date change, but it can be done.

Just a thought, as there are already 3 in your room and two of you will not be using the room, it might be easier to move MIL and DSD to your husband's room, taking your daughter's and your places. That way, the life boat situation is unaffected. Of course, DCL will be able to tell you how to best 'work' this unusual situation.

Since you are past PIF you'll be hit with penalty fees for cancelling one room, I don't believe you can just change the date. How much penalty depends on how close you are to the sail date -- I think it's the deposit amount until you get to 45 days out. You may be able to change names and move MIL/DSD into your cabin with DH but there may be change fees for that. If you move DH to MIL's cabin, he will pay the current prevailing rate, not the fare when you first booked, and possibly he won't be allowed if that muster station is full.

Good luck!
