I will be going in 12 days and several hours from now. I was wondering if carosel of progress was open and running for Dec. 16 - 20 ?

I love that ride. I think it's my favorite. It wasn't open in August of last year when I was there last.

According to the scedule for this year's MVMCP, CP is open!! I hope it's right! I didn't get to see it last time and it's one of my favorites.

Oh Man I hope so, I love that ride. there is just something about it. That ride was moved from Disneyland to Disney World if I'm not mistaken

How do you find out when the Carousel of Progress will be open? I'm going January 6ish through the 13ish.

I belive COP and Timekeeper are open until AE reopens as Stitch and Lilo

COP was open Nov 9 week
Timekeeper was closed for a private party whatever that means

thanks

hope it stays open throughout the christmas season...

walks off humming theres a great big beautiful tomorrow.... dumm dumm deee dumm deee dummm dummm

I remeber surfing around the disney site and I stumbled across a scheduled maintenance page that showed when rides would be down.

From What I understand COP along with Timekeeper is supposed to remain open during the "Stitch" makeover to Alien Encounter.

COP was open in early October when we went.

It was great seeing it after missing it for soooo long

I have BOTH songs going around in my head...

"There's a great big beautiful tomorrow..." AND

"Now is the time, now is the best time, now is the best time of our lives..."

COP was open at Halloween. Have to admit I was disappointed. They had changed it from what I remembered -- wasn't there a family in the "future" with a daughter calling in from her hydroponic garden or something?

It was wonderfully kitschy. Now it's grandma playing virtual reality games on Christmas morning.

Guess I have a soft spot for "futures that never were."

I think that they did change it somehow.

But wasn't that "scene" from Horizons?

COP is one of my favorites that Ive not been able to see on our last few trips, wasn't open.:wave2: :goodvibes :hyper:

I did the COP just this past Sunday, so it was open for business as of just a few days ago! Timekeeper was open (starting at 10:00 a.m.) as well.

Grandma was playing the virtual game with grandson. I seems to remember the phone call but it hasn't been there in a loooong time. They are going to leave COP and Timekeeper open for the Alien Demiss. I would like to see them refirb them and keep them open period.

A lady who works with dh was the voice for the little girl in COP. Her father had something to do with the creation of the attraction. For some reason I want to say the COP debuted at a State Fair many many years ago and then was moved. Anybody else know if this is correct?

We just saw CoP this past Monday.

Actually, it made its debut at a World's fair - but I can't recall the year...

What is Timekeeper? I don't think that I have seen that one in the past 20 years I have been going.

According to the pre-show information at COP, the attraction was Walt's creation from start to finish and premiered at the 1964 World's Fair (in NY maybe?).

I believe that it was actually Walt Disney who designed this ride for the World's Fair back in the mid 60's.

It was incorporated at WDW in the first few years after opening, after it had been at Disneyland for (??) years.

COP debuted at the 1964 World's Fair in NY along with It's a Small World and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.
