Is Candy Cane Inn worth $50 more than Tropicana?

There is a $50 difference between the two for our stay.
Important things are convenience but also atmosphere. Really second guessing the choices. I know CCI looks nicer but that distance looks awesome from Tropicana.
Someone please make the decision for me!

I'm all about distance! The walk at nap time and park close are killer! Lol!! The Candy Cane does have it's own shuttle, but with little ones and a stroller, I don't do shuttles.

I'd pick the Candy Cane over Tropicana most days a week. For $50 I'd stay closer this time and take the Tropicana. Usually the prices of the two are the same or CCI a little better, CCI must be pretty full and Tropicana not so.

Yes, CCI is worth $50 more than the Tropicana, no question.
The breakfast alone is worth the $50 IMO, CCI has a much better breakfast than the Tropicana, add in the free shuttle and there's no question at all.

I agree with Pixiewings! It has been a while since I have stayed at the Tropicana, but when I did they had their mattresses encased in a plastic protector that crinkled every time you moved while in bed. I hasd to wrestle it off after the first night so I could get some sleep! I also agree that there is a substantial difference in the quality of the breakfast between CCI and Tropicana, so if you have several in your party that are breakfast eaters, you may find that the CCI is a better deal.

Depends on your needs. CCI is farther away even with a shuttle. We stayed there Spring Break 2008 and I realize it was peak season, but we were disappointed. Kiddos and are are staying at Tropicana in 2 weeks because we are there to be in the Parks and it is a lot closer. My DD stayed there during a band trip and she thought it was fine a place to sleep. $50 a night can buy lots of Dole Whips!!

We just arrived at the Tropicana after staying at the CCI. For $20, I might pick CCI over the Tropicana. For $50, no way. I love the proximity to the parks, the beds are super comfy (I'm laying in one as I write this ) and while the shuttle is wonderful at CCI, I like not having to worry about timing our trips to and from the parks in order to catch it. I think with the money you're saving you could buy an awfully decent breakfast in the parks. Breakfast at CCI was just toast, bagels, muffins, cereal, yogurt, fruit and oatmeal. It's lovely eating by the pool but the food isn't really substantial for families that need a hot breakfast.

I Love hearing this we check into the Tropicanna Monday for our very first DL trip. It doesn't seem to get a lot of love on these boards. Everyone talks about the poor free breakfast, but I knew that going in before I made reservation.
