They are everywhere!!! They just keep coming. The only thing that really annoys me is they were singing "Jump shake your booty" over and over again @the Nemo musical. I saw one of their tour leaders @ Columbia House for lunch and they were ordering for all of them their bill was $1,025 and the guy payed in all $50 travelers checks it was crazy!

what most of you say...you're proving you're bigoted w/ every post you type. But alas, I'm less than 24 hours from my trip to WDW...so I have no more time to sit and read these anymore.

I have to go get ready and get my mind right for all of the barbaric Brazilians:rolleyes1

Yes, you all have generalized an entire group of people, reduced to THEM and THOSE PEOPLE, butttttt you're not bigots....oh to live in your world, must be nice! The funny thing is I am sure you hide it all very well out in the real world, I couldn't imagine the same statements coming out of your mouths then...well not in "mixed"company anyway...

Sooooooo, you people continue to have at it. This is the perfect place for you again behind some screen name on the world wide web.

It must be difficult for you to function in society with skin that thin...we'll be pulling for you!:surfweb:

I agree. Obviously some of you have no idea what bigoted or prejudiced or racist means

No one has generalized any race or culture in any certain way..they are simply pointing out the fact that these kids are from Brazil and are horrendous

Here is a hint: www.dictionary.com

Also..its pretty well known (I thought) that most larger countries (that are westernized too) teach English to kids at a very young age. These kids for the most part DO know English and they also seem to know what stores and brands to buy when they shop at the outlets too. Give them a little more credit than that

I can't speak for the Brazilian groups, but I can say that as a child, I had the opportunity to take a few group trips to WDW and I can give my observations from those times.

In the 5th grade, we went on a school field trip to Epcot for the day (I lived in Winter Park so it was a common field trip). We were a group of maybe 200 kids, and managed to break down into smaller chaperoned groups of 8-10 kids per chaperone. I was disgusted with most of my classmates for what they tried to get away with. Even at that age (10-11), the kids were loud, rude, inconsiderate and pushy.

Fast forward to my senior year. By this time I lived in Ft. Lauderdale. We went to WDW for Grad Night, and also had tickets to attend the park earlier in the day as well. This time, we were largely unsupervised. I believe our school used 5 or 6 motorcoach buses to transport the kids to WDW, and there was ONE chaperone per bus. Once we arrived, it was a free-for-all. As long as we checked in at the end of the night, we were free to wander as we wished. Again I was embarrassed by most of my classmates. Keep in mind that for Grad Night, kids are bussed in from around the country so WDW was truly overrun with teenagers. Our rival school pulled Mickey's head off, and another local school pushed one of the characters into the lake the previous year and could not attend Grad Night for the next 5 years. The cheerleaders ran around cheering, the football players forever ruined the "Yo ho yo ho" song on POTC for me with their version laced with profanity. And this was all in the daytime hours, when WDW was still open to the general public. The amount of rude behavior I saw when I was PART of these tour groups was appalling.

I don't think the issue here is that the kids are Brazilian. They could be Argentinian, Minnesotan, or Neptunian for all I care. The issue is that they are kids, and they are in large groups with not enough supervision. That is a recipe for horrendous behavior no matter where you're from.

Several years ago, our family trip to MK turned into a tour group nightmare. This tour was not just teenagers but a mix of adults and children. As bad luck would have it somehow our MK family planned itinerary tour got in sync with their tour. They must have had read the same tour guide book. :confused3

Any who, their MO was that the tour guide/ring master would be ahead of the group and get to the next ride's entrance. The tour guide was always smiling and running interference for the mob. The guide would mill around the entrance of a ride strategically waiting till their minions exited another ride so she could spring her trap. The tour guide would always make sure she had her group's war flag hidden. As soon she knew her guided minions were exiting the other ride, she would spring into action. The group leader would block the entrance and politely explain to guests that she was just waiting for a member of her group to catch up. The other guests would nod and say "sure" since we always gracious tourists. After the tour guide gets the other tourists/suckers to agree, the tour guide triumphantly raises her the tour flag, the approaching minions upon seeing their waving war flag, they would scream out their war cry and begin the all out charge to the awaiting guide.

I must admit the first time I saw the screaming 100+ crowd bearing down on me...I knew just how Custard felt at Wounded Knee. :scared:

It became pandemonium at the entrance of the ride. The wave of minions shoved, trampled and screamed their way past the other guests. :scared1: The other guests waiting to get in line stood there with stunned expressions. The tour guide and minions all had ear to ear grins as they ran over the other guests. They were having the time of their lives. The CM on the other hand just gave the stunned audience the look "Welcome to WDW in July"

The rest of the trip I kept thinking where I would have liked to plant that tour guide's flag:dance3:

As a post script... My mention of Custer and Wounded Knee was in no way meant to disrespect or to stereotype American Indians or the brave Sioux Nation :thumbsup2

Hi Ho all,
I normally don't hang out on this part of the DIS. You will generally find me around the Resert/Photography/Dining areas.

My last two visits to DWD were in July. Last year was fairly uneventful but I did notice a lot BTG's. Everything was cool, just young kids doing what young kids do... I thought it was a soccor event at Wide World of Sports. This year, not so good. I thought I would lose mind waiting in line at the Indy Cars. If one was in line up ahead, they would all cut in line - one at a time. We went to Fantasmic and it was insane. I was wondering wondering what was going on. I felt like I was in Disney Brazil. I was always afraid to mention this for fear of becoming the "Ugly American". I thought that I would be "flamed" into next year! It's not that there were murderous rampages down the streets of Disney. There were not old cars on cinder blocks in the front of the Polynesian. No one was sporting Brazilian neckties. It's just the rudeness. You save up all year for a great time with your family and to get away from the grind only to find another kind of grind. This is the reason I like to hang out on the "Resorts" board - I get to talk about my favorite part of the Disney trip. The Polynesian Resort has become my destination and the parks are just a side trip. I never thought I would say this, but maybe it's time to consider doing something else...

AMEN SISTER!! I saw quite a few of them this past week. All loud, all obnoxious. Would I say the same if they were white, middle class, Americans or French or German or Ethiopian? YEP!! The point is not WHAT they are, just HOW they were behaving!

I think this poster nailed it on the head. I really don't think anyone is stereotyping Brazilians, it could be any group for that matter. It's just the frustration people feel for those who don't seem to follow the rules and have disregard for their fellow park attenders. We just returned yesterday from WDW and encountered numerous tour groups. Compounded by the heat and crowds, it was a recipe for disaster! What seemed to frustrate me the most were the "chaperones" for these groups who encouraged this behavior by leading really loud chants, etc. before the shows. :headache:

the Brazilian tour groups lol me and my brother always sneak up behind them and act like were in the group!! i wouldnt be surprised if there wasnt too many people in Brazil:lmao: :rotfl2:

Ok, I'm sure very few people know who MC Chris is, but he's a rapper (I guess, I'm not 100% sure if that's what he considers himself). And he's sometimes on Aqua Teen Hunger Force, he's pretty funny

He went to WDW recently, and wrote a blog post about it (which I would link to but language issues, KWIM?) and touched on this topic.

"the people there were pretty amazing to behold. swarms of brazilian teens clapping in unison, marching through the park like a big scary foreign cloud. at the end of the day there was a downpour and they all just starting hopping up and down and clapping and chanting songs, all the white people were under awnings sadly staring up at the clouds, defeated. the brazilians rejoiced. "

I was laughing pretty hard at that :lmao:

I just love the title of this thread. :lmao:

I was at Universal this morning and saw at least 15 groups...mostly kids and mostly behaving themselves. Of course it was early in the day so they may not have been fully awake yet. :rotfl:

I agree that they didnt have much supervision. When they went to a attraction they completely took over! Breaking in line , not doing what the cm's said to do and etc. When they were walking down they would be 6, 8 or 10 wide and would make the other visitors move. I finally got tired of it and held my ground when walking. They were teens being teens but in despirate need of supervision. Got a question about this. Does this happen every year around this time? I guess if you dodge one problem though you'll run into another so I guess its best to go and make the best of it.

I've seen them and I've seen the American cheerleader groups and I MUCH prefer the exhuberence of the Brazilian teens to those cheerleaders. Ugh. Anyway, whoever it was that said "It's a Brazilan tradition to send your 15 year old to WDW", that's just wrong. They are on school break and yes, their parents send them on an organized, supervised trip SOMEWHERE, but certainly they don't all come to WDW.

We travelled to Argentina last year and were in San Carlos de Bariloche, in the Andes mountains. There were GIANT groups of teens in orange snowsuits roaming the streets, filling the shops, doing all the touristy stuff, always chanting and clapping. I thought there was some kind of South American snowboarding competition going on, but found out from our guide that they were all Brazilian teenagers on their end-of-school trip. For the record, he was not crazy about them. I was like... "Omg! I thought they all went to Disney World!".

So see? Don't feel so special. They're bugging vacationers the world over! But they mean no harm. And they do NOT all speak English, btw. As far as only speaking English in the food courts, well yeah. We were awesome at ordering food in Espanol, too. That's easy.

I'm curious if you even know what "bigot" means? If not, look it up and you'll realize how ridiculous you sound using it.

It's not that these tour groups speak a different language or wear matching shirts or are different in any way. It's that they violate and disrespect the other people in the parks. If they were there acting completely considerate and just having a good time, yet people were saying "Get those Brazilians out of the parks!", then THAT would be bigoted. If people were saying they hated when the Brazilians acted like idiots, but it's ok for the American cheerleaders to do so, THAT would be bigoted. But to say it because they touch other people, knock children down, urinate on the sidewalk and expose themselves in public (which has been witnessed more than once) is NOT bigoted, unless you're a bigot against rude, inconsiderate and obnoxious people.

And I have to admit that I am :confused3

:thumbsup2 Count me in

well its amazing that for someone who feels this way you read all 15 pages before you made an issue so you must have found some of these posts interesting otherwise you would have clicked off this thread. maybe you are a little concerned and uptight about your upcoming trip? nobody made you read all this so you obviously are a little uptight about this huh????? well have a good trip and hope 500 of them Brazillians jump in front of you as well im sure you will have a different outlook when it happens to your precious children. remember remain calm and let them get away with it all.:sad2: glad they won't be there when im there in sept?? is this a good month??

I am on the road and about 3 hours from getting to WDW in the morning for a 7 day trip, does anyone know how to say "back of the line" in Portuguise (wrong spelling)?

Oooh! Do you have a link to that MC Chris blog?

My family just got back today from a 14 day trip. We stayed at ASMo. Their were tons of brazilian tour groups. it does not matter where they were from just that they were rude and unserpervised. I do not understand the value system in their country for respect for other poeple but they showed none to me. FOURTEEN days we were their and not once, no not even one time did an adult or teen ever say parden me or excuse me or whatever it is in Spanish. I am smart enough to figure it out. I am proud that my 10 year old "excused" himself numerous times.
We experienced constant noise and repeated knocks on the door until 3am on most days.
this was a rolling billboard to never go in July and never stay at a value resort again.

This post was pretty funny, but that sentence had me cracking up! I am imagining a cup of custard hiding and quaking in the corner while a bunch of Brazilians come running towards it, brandishing their spoons and chanting.
