Is it? Because there can't be many people left there.. They are all at Disney..I just picture getting to the Brazilian border and seeing a sign saying...Sorry, Brazil is closed, Gone to Walt Disney World

Great - Going next week.

My friend just got back yesterday. He vowed never again in July. When I asked why he said, "THOSE (EXPLETIVE) BRAZILIAN TOUR GROUPS!!!"

I heard about the infamous Brazilian Tour Groups on here, but honestly, I always asked, what's the big deal? I guess it's just something you have to see to believe

Honestly, it gets me too upset to even talk about anymore. The fact that Disney does NOTHING about this and they are well aware of people's problems, is very disheartening.

Is Brazil Closed?
:rotfl2: Oh that is funny. I have only heard and not seen the tour groups which made the Flights of Wonder show (at AK) a little confusing for me - they make reference to "groups" and the "leader" carries a little flag. I finally saw one group on a TV show about WDW! But not LIVE! Must be a sight!

With all the video recording devices doesn't somone have some good video of the BTGs??

It's not just one group though.. They are at every single park and many resorts... There are like 5 groups in each park every day.. It's not that they are not friendly..They appear to be quite happy ,but there are so many of them and if one of them beats you to the end of the line the other 100 or so behind them will get in line behind them.. They send one person to the fastpass machines with 100 tickets.. If you see a Brazilian at the fastpass dispenser before you change lines!

ETA, I even saw a group at the airport getting off of ME

The line cutting is the worst...and when you stop them they become very rude! They think if one person is in line the other 99 can just walk to the front to meet them!!! And then they pretend they can't speak English unless they want to ask you for something...Then I pretend I forgot how to speak English too!:lmao:

I think they live there now. My sister and her kids and grandkids went last January, and they complained about them.

Here's a positive suggestion. Let's get up a drive to have them build a Disney park in Brazil. They have two in Asia and one in Europe. I think they really, really need one in Brazil.

A quick youtube search of "brazilians disney" turned up a video of a BTG chanting their way down Hollywood Boulevard, though the title of the vid may be offensive to some so I won't post a link.

How annoying! It's been 12 years since I've been to WDW, and I remember seeing big groups with matching shirts, but I don't remember them being annoying like that.

We were there a few years ago in July and were "lucky" to see the Bralizian tour groups. Very rude, jumped lines, etc.

Aren't they almost gone yet? I'm really, really hoping they are by the time we get there on July 28th. I'd heard early to mid July so was hoping we'd miss them!

And as far as Brazil being closed, maybe it's like this quote from this week's All Ears Newsletter regarding Jersey Week:

If there's a week, or several days, when your kids are on a school vacation, the chances are good that another area of the country is also on hiatus. This is obvious for the major holidays like Christmas, Presidents' Week, Easter Break and Thanksgiving -- some others, like New Jersey week, less so. (If you're wondering, New Jersey Week is a week in November when all residents of the Garden State must leave and visit Florida. I'm not exactly sure of the reasoning but I think it involves a general dusting and cleaning of the state and this is, apparently, easier than asking twelve million people to simultaneously "lift your feet.") :rotfl:

I saw them, but they didn't bother me at all. :confused3

are you just supposed to back up and let the rest of them in:confused3

The aforementioned Jersey Week is the 2nd week in November. The 2nd Thursday and Friday of the month is a state wide teachers convention and all the schools in NJ are closed so alot of families take their kids out of school the prior 3 days and go to Disney at that time! Really, the NJ is dirty, smells etc. never gets old!

Wow - I didn't mean it that way. It was in a Disney newsletter so it can't be that offensive. I know when Jersey week is - I have a good friend (from Jersey!) going that week and we've been planning the trip online. She found that quote hilarious.

I really think it was meant as a "get the kids out of the house so it's easier to clean" type comparison, rather than insulting Jersey at all. I was just comparing it and saying maybe it was cleaning week in Brazil this week!

Sorry if it offended you!

I was at AK last week, and although they didn't totally ruin my trip or anything, I did run into the following annoyances:

1) They were all heading one way down a path and I was heading the other. I had nowhere to go, but they were pretty much going to run me down. I had to hold the pointy end of my water bottle out in front of me, and after five or six of them walked into it they got the hint and moved over.

2) The constant, ear-splitting chanting while they wait in line. I pity any migraine sufferers who might have been waiting around me.

3) On Kilimanjaro, there were two Brazilian groups in front of me, and they didn't fill the jeeps...they were loading 'em based on directions from the group leader, which means they were going out half filled. Pissed me off because it make the line go MUCH slower. Make 'em back on and fill the freakin' vehicle!

4) On Everest, as I was exiting, about a dozen of them had literally just sat down on the floor of the store where you exit! People were tripping and stumbling all over trying to get around them...a CM was trying to get them to get up.

These groups aren't just Brazilian. I saw groups from Spain and a few other countries while there and my brother said he saw a Texas one week before last.

They were everywhere last week, including both Universal parks and SeaWorld, though mostly at Disney. I remember seeing a large group get into line at BTMRR a little ways behind my family. The line already was stretching out into the main path and went twice as far after this group joined it. We saw the wait time double after this, we know the CMs saw them and updated the wait time knowing about how much longer the line had gotten.

They weren't to annoying except they always seemed to be in the way. Saturday I was in MK after the train tour and was grabbing a few pictures I wanted but couldn't get while there earlier in the week. Had heck of a time getting a picture of the Partner's Statue because of a group. Wound up kind of shoving my way through between them getting shots with it to grab a quick one of the statue and of the plaque (sp?). My picture of the plaque wasn't so good because of them.
