I went last year in early May. Crowd levels were extremely manageable and the weather was great. I suppose it was a bit on the "hot" side, but nothing unbearable at all. Loved it.
Maybe because it's too hard to pull their kids out of school right at the busy end of the year. That's THE only thing keeping me from early May now. Did it once when they were younger and it was fabulous.Yes but HOT. We did a mother's day trip last year and it was near empty on Monday and Tuesday and very moderate crowds that weekend.
Not sure why every mom doesn't want to be at Disney World??
My favorite time has always been September but since free dining not so much. We are now returning from a week at Disney (4 - 10) and it was wonderful! Especially at night. The only really busy day was 5/5 at MK but I think it was because it rained hard the day before (which was a fantastic time to do MK-we did many attractions plus many more we hadn't expected to do but it was also EMH). During our trip I Inadvertantly scheduled 3 evening EMH days (MK, HS, and EP) and crowds were very very low. We ended up canceling all our fps for EP, we just didn't need them. Also, we didn't get inside the park until around 9:30 and only waited around 25 minutes for Joy/Sadness and 10 for Baymax. I found AK fairly crowded but it was our last day, it was hot, we were tired, but once I dropped all our plans and we just winged it, it turned out to be a great day. I think for those who are first or one timers it's important to try to see as much as you can. If you plan to go back, just hit the highlights an see what you can. Overall I found out that out of 7 days only 9 of our fast passes were useful or even necessary. Some of those would have not been necessary using the EMH as well. We had fps for FOF parade but that turned out to be our undoing because the hub is full sun and hotter than hades. After that, the girls were done for and we ended up canceling our BOG and headed back to the resort for a swim and a movie on the lawn.Is this a good time for Disney? I have read in multiple places that Disney was very very slow today.
I checked the app and many rides were under 20 mins. I think PP was 40, but that is good for that ride! AK appeared empty, most things were 5 or 10 mins. Everest was 10. TT was only 30. I guess with spring breaks being done, but schools not being out yet it must be slow?

We are scheduled to be there May 21-27. We will actually be leaving on the 27th and that is the beginning of Memorial Day weekend.. Hoping to miss the beginning summer season crowds...
We've booked next May from the 17th-27th, should I think about switching to earlier in May?? I originally booked this way so that we would be there on my daughter's birthday, but it seems like maybe it is worth it to go a bit earlier even though we won't be there ON her actually bday. What are your thoughts?
