We're thinking of arriving to WDW on a Saturday and leaving on a Sunday.

Does that work easily with the airlines--pricewise, etc.? Or is it better to stick to weekdays?

How does that fit in with crowds/rush for checking in at WDW--is that when a lot of people are arriving there?

Well, that's what we're doing in December and pricewise with the airlines, it was cheaper. In fact, we had originally planned to be there from Sunday to Sunday and when we finally went to book our tickets, the Sunday flight had gone up $20 a flight. We decided to look at the Saturday options and it was cheaper. All in all, it ended up being cheaper to book the flights on the Saturday and pay for one more nights lodging at Pop Century. We were pretty pleased with that. :goodvibes As for weekdays being cheaper, I think that's a toss up. I would look at travelocity or whatever website has a fare calendar and make your decision that way if you can be flexible with your dates.

As for coming in and crowds, I don't know. Our last trip was a short one -- we arrived on a Wednesday and left on a Saturday. I'm willing to bet that you have a chance of running into a crowd any day of the week depending on what time you fly in. Maybe try online check in to try to alleviate some of that hassle. I think you should just be prepared for crowds regardless. That way, you won't have too high of expectation and at least you would have the chance to be plesantly surprised.

Usually returning on a Sunday is more expensive because of business travelers (going somewhere for a Monday meeting). On our upcoming trip in November the return airfare on Sunday was @ $50 more per ticket. So, we stayed an extra day and are returning on Monday.

We always fly in early on saturday and leave late saturday evening. I see no sense in staying another night in a hotel just to get up and leave early sunday morning. The flights are usally cheaper on saturdays, and dh likes having a whole day to recover from his vacation.:rotfl:
