Is anyone from South FL going up this weekend?

I'm getting the house ready (we are in the middle of building) and as of now I'm still going, we leave Friday afternoon. If we have lousy weather here I'd rather be in WDW! I'm suppose to leave WDW Sunday but I'll have to see what driving weather looks like, might have to book another night at WDW.

Maybe if everyone on the disboards goes outside and blows really really hard towards the west we can get Frances to GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! Heck, I'll try almost anything!

I was supposed to go but I just cancelled...if you do cancel make sure you talk to a supervisor, so you can gte a full refund of your trip ..thats what I did...if not they were going to charge me for the first nights deposit but its not like I wouldn't have gone had there not been a hurricane:bounce:

We're watching and waiting. We decided to splurge and fly up there this time. And, there's a good chance that our flight will be cancelled. Then we will decide if we drive, or try to get out of our ressie.

I thought about it, but considering what might be coming our way, I decided against it... I need to protect my house.

Hey fellow South Floridians-
Now I kinda wish I was going to get the heck outa here!

Good Luck to all whether staying or going, if you're driving or flying, just ...BE CAREFUL!!:earseek:

Susy, do what your gutt tells you (if you don't feel right leaving then don't go, you can always go up another weekend...or if you want to go, leave before they post any warnings).

We are evacuating to Disney...We could have gone for free to the in-laws in Tampa--but it is just too miserable being there. I shoudl be greatful--but when I am stuck there and not choosing to be there, it is just terrible.

We booked sports--but hubby surprised me (though I don't know yet ;) ) and we are actually staying at the Wilderness Lodge.

We live on a barrier island and will be evacuated--so what better place to be than Disney!!!!

Also--if you cancel--and can't get the full refund--you can transfer your deposit to a future trip--if you don't have a date--just pick one.

My So FL friend always evacuates to Disney World !!

Best wishes for a safe and happy weekend to all the people on the southern East Coast.

We are in central NC and still get "hit" by some hurricanes, of course not as bad as the first to get hit.

No sleep until that storm is well to the north of us.

Anyone see the latest hurricane update?? I think they said if it enters through St. Lucie/Indian River county it could go all the way up to Orlando. Can anyone confirm?

I was able to cancel this morning. The CM didn't think the computer would let me, but it did as a modification to another weekend. I prefer to go when I think the weather will be nicer. Our AP's will expire the 20th of this month and we want one last trip to do everything - I don't think this weekend will be it. Also, we have many relatives who may need a place to evacuate and it will be nice to be here for them.
