Is anyone else super unimpressed with Christmas "deals" this year?

I think it really depended on what you were looking for. If you wanted electronics, there were deals to be had--I have no idea how good they were, as this didn't interest me. But, if you were looking for a computer, TV, tablet--you could find stuff.

Overall, though, I was underwhelmed. But, I figure, I'll keep looking, better deal may yet surface.

We were talking at work about how absolutely awful the electronics deals were this year. At least if you read the fine print.
The big retailers special order models for Black Friday that they do not normally carry with a few big differences like:
TVs and Computers with a 30 day warranty instead of a 1 year warranty.
TV's without a remote control. You have to buy a universal remote for an extra $10.
Computers with smaller hard drives and less RAM than you would expect.
TV's with fewer inputs, or one a co-worker found with 1 USB, 1 HDMI and no coax imput.

I got Bose wireless headphones for $150.
She's talking about the Bose QC 35 over the ear headphones (not earbuds). They haven't (and probably won't) gone on sale at all. They're a brand new model and one of the highest rated noise canceling headphones out there. People aren't hesitating to pay full price for them so that's probably why. I keep looking though and will post if I stumble upon a price drop.

I didn't get earbuds, I got Bose bluetooth around-ear headphones. But no, they were not the new QC 35. There were ways to get small discounts on those, like using Amex rebates or rewards certificates from Best Buy or New Egg, but nothing huge.

I was just clarifying for anyone reading. Yes, I used my Best Buy rewards on a set for my DH.

You may be right--I didn't look, because we're not in the market right now. I do know that the "deals" this time of year, on tvs especially, aren't great deals at all--it's older models, stripped down, whatever. Luckily for me, my DH is a real OCD nut when it comes to the fine print--that stuff bores me to tears, but he eats it right up! The only electronic thing he wanted this year was a new GPS for his car--I got him a refurbished one for cheap, but only after he gave me his list of specs.
