Is anyone besides me a little cheesed off that they are re-releasing the old costumes (ie Yellow/Pink Princess Dress, Cowboy, Indian... err Native American...)

I mean, I carefully collected my costumes and now anyone can get them. :(

I mean, I'm glad that people that really wanted them and got them at all... but, I can't help feeling a little annoyed. Would it have been horrible to release them in differnt colors? *shrugs* But, thats just me...

sorry for being a little selfish folks. :/

No, I don't find it that annoying. I'm not a big fan of trading anyway and hate being hit up by people who want whatever piece of clothing or pin I happen to be wearing at the time. I'd much prefer that everyone have the chance to get things they want.

Besides, the people who buy those costumes today are paying WAY more than you did for them. So if the costume never comes back in the future, new players who come along after this week will still want that extra costume you have and now it's worth more than you paid for it.

I have absolutely no problem with it, if the kids who beg for your stuff can
actually get it for themselves. Of course, many of them probably wouldn't
have enough credits, so the endless cries of "plz plz!!" will continue.

I'm looking forward to add to my collection I have, with the new costumes.
I like to mix 'n match. :earsboy:

Not me. Personally, I am happy that I can finally get the dresses. :)
I've been wanting them. Plus, I'm able to get a couple extras so they can be traded at a later date.

Although, I do think that it was kinda dumb to take the green explorer's outfit out only to sell it again later this week.

Totally agree. But TrixieMaguee I know where you are coming from alot of players really love to trade and rare stuff is a bargaining chip...but look on the bright side of this! You can get more of a Costume that in less than 6 months time will be rare again! And worth a fortune in barter!

I personally don't have a problem with it, because I didn't get them last time, I was at WDW, so them selling everything again is great! Sorry you fell that way.

No, I don't mind at all that they are bringing back the costumes and I hope they do it at regular intervals. The new players have no way of getting the older costumes and those who stockpiled in order to trade them out ask for the moon.
And, for a while anyway, it might cut down on "may I have your crown pleeease plz plz", conversations.

As soon as they sell the cowboy hat I won't have to worry about people coming up to me saying "I need your hat. Please give it to me." Or, "Give me your hat pretty plz? Plz? Plz? Plz?" etc. etc. :sunny:

I wished they would have kept at least one of the dresses rare, but I'm quite happy that I will now be able to wear my dresses without getting a million trade requests every time I walk into a room.

I am so happy that others will have the chance to collect them. I'm upset I traded so much away for the yellow dress when I could have bought it for 2000.

My son, on the other hand is upset about the repeat costumes for the same reason as op stated.

I'm glad that everyone now has a chance to get the clothes that they missed out on. I'm a little guilty feeling right now, though, as I had several friends work very hard to make my yellow dress dream come true....and now it seems it was for nothing. :confused3 Now I have to work harder to make other dreams happen.... :wizard:

Looks like I'm going against the grain here with you.. :)

I get annoyed when they re-release items.

I like the fact that people are allowed to have a bit of individuality by holding on to rare items and sporting their style...then VMK re-releases the items and it loses its charm for that person.

Example..
The whole reason people like green flips is because they are rare! I'd imagine the green flippers would be slightly bummed if they were to go on sale..even if they don't openly admit it :)

Having said that, its only a minor VMK-related annoyance. I pout for a second..and move on!

VMK is a game of immediacy, everyone wants it now! (even me! I admit to having Herbie before it is officially out! :Pinkbounc )
So this is the way I look at it. When new electronic toys and gadgets first come out (remember when DVD players, or cell phones, or ipods were new?) the price is often very high, but we don't care because we want it now. We want to enjoy it and maybe show it off to our friends. It's fun to have something exclusive. But it doesn't usually stay that way. The price comes down, more stores start to carry it and before you know it everyone has it and then it eventually becomes obsolete, replaced by the next new thing.

So for those of you who have had the costumes, you got them early, enjoyed them, and now everyone gets the chance. What's the big deal? It happens in real life all the time.

Not sure about how other DIS feel about the green flips, but for those of us who try to identify other DIS in the real parks...that green is our color. Some of us don our lime green Mickey heads from Home Depot. Or wear a green DIS button that you can purchase from the DIS...or other lime green merchandise we wear or buy here at the DIS. So I'd like the flips flops just because they are DIS green :)

BRAVO! Now if only that would solve the "Give me your hat. Plz? Plz? Pretty plz?" problem...

I actually agree with the original comment of this post, I do support the idea that more people get the costumes, but do they really? They are sometimes more expensive, and it destroys the rariety of an item which stops diversity as was mentioned. I am most upset about the yellow space suit being released as a prize because it was the only rare item that i had for a long time, and i worked FOREVER nedding that whole weekend it was released just to work up 2000 credits to buy the unexpected first costume! I was so proud and happy to have that costume, to only have it destroyed by people trading one out every day. I think this idea holds true with most costumes, especially as they are out longer, they are just not special or unique any more. Yes i dont have annoying kids asking me for my space suit constatnly anymore, but now that its gone, in retrospect, i actually kind of miss that special feeling it gave me.

I bought the yellow princess outfit b/c I just wanted one, even though yellow is my least fave of the colors. I bought too and gave one to a girl I know who needed one. (Oh my...I just said "too" instead of "two". LOL) I will probably never wear the whole outfit since everyone is wearing them now (and in real life as well as VMK I hate looking like everyone else...I try to be unique), but I gotta tell you (and those who saw me today know this): the yellow princess top with the space pants and the yellow princess shoes + crown is a rocking outfit! at least, I think so. I have an odd fashion sense.

:flower: Mia :flower:

P.S. I think boys should be allowed to wear the princess stuff. I mean, some of them may be into cross-dressing, you never know! :rotfl2:
