Is "All-Star Band"=college players?

DS just tried out for some summer collegiate internship at DL that involves playing with a band there. Since we've never even been to DL (however, we love WDW, and he thought there'd be nothing better to learn about musical performing than spending a summer with Disney), he thought this would be a great opportunity. If so, what can you tell me? Is it a marching band? How big is it? How often do they perform? The website I checked said they perform in Town Square, but didn't say how often. I'm so excited, just that he auditioned and it went "fairly well" (DS is his own worst critic, so "fairly well" is good).
