I just got my confirmation for VWL and in contains no mention of the fact that my 2BR reservation is for a lockoff. I called and was told that I indeed did have a lockoff reserved. the MS rep. did not know why it does not show up on the confirmation.

Do any of you know what's up?

The lockoff is important to my reservation.

The villa is reserved as either dedicated or lock-off. If MS confirmed which type you have, you should be all set. If you'd feel better with written proof, send an e-mail asking them to confirm that your reservation is for a lock-off.

If you absolutely, positively HAVE to have a lock off, book at BWV. :teeth: All of the 2 bedroom units at the BWV are lock offs.

Just kidding - I know you want to be at VWL.

I agree with PamOKW. Wouldn't hurt to try to check in early in the day and repeat the request when you do.

Best wishes -

I'm guessing on this one but I can remember having it noted on my VWL confirmation that we had a dedicated 2BR reserved. It has never said lock-off that I can remember? Maybe only the dedicated is noted on the confirmation?

Or just go with Carol's suggestion so you don't have to worry.;)

If MS confirmed you are in a lock-out, you probably are. About half of the available two-bedrooms at WLV are lockouts.

WORRY!!!!!!!!!

This is a request not a guarantee.

I know because it happen to us. When I called to make ressies I made 7 days in a 2 bdrm and then one day in a one bdrm. Said we did not want to move so could we have a lock-off? No problem I was told. In fact I was told it twice. When we got there we were in a dedicated 2 bdrm and would have to move for our last day. I was told at the desk that lock-offs were a request and there were none available when we checked in - anywhere at OKW. We ended up changing our ressie to a 2 bdrm (good thing there was one available and we had the points) and we did not move. I was rather angry when we checked in but there was nothing I could do about it.

Good luck!!!

I received the opposite info from an email from MS when I "requested" a dedicated 2BR for SSR. Here is exactly what it said:

"You are confirmed for a dedicated two bedroom. Just so you are aware on future reservations, dedicated versus lock-off is not a preference but a category and must be booked as either a
dedicated or a lock-off. If dedicated had not been available, the only way to change it is through the waitlist."

So, it's not a preference - it is a category and should be requested as such when you make a reservation. If that info doesn't appear on your confirmation, contact MS to confirm and ask for a new confirmation noting it.

They will book the Dedicated 2 BR units first. They are actually booked, not requests per se. If the resort has more than one type of dedicated (BCV), it will specify one way or another. If there is no specification, assume a lockoff. While it is a directly booked option, they can and sometimes do change it. It's no different than checking in to a hotel with a non smoking room booked and all they have left is smoking, it happens. If they've confirmed it, that's as close to a guarantee as you can get, just realize it's not 100%.
