Most of the days we will be there say a crowd level 6. Is that bad? Is the 6 at the worst park or just in general?

A crowd level of six is a moderate crowd level. Have a touring plan, arrive at rope drop, and all will be fine.

Now if you had a crowd level of 10 that would be a different story. :)

'6' isn't too bad in the early a.m. in the afternoon it really picks up.

6 is more average/moderate.It will be busy by late morning but still extremely manageable.

I'm not sure where you info came from but most crowd levels are done on a scale of 1 to 10. That puts you at moderate level as the pp already said go with a touring plan, start at rope drope and you should be fine

6 is totally fine. There will never be a long line for the bathroom and you will not have to navigate through a dense sea of people at any time (unless the per park level for the one you're in is 9 or 10).
If you want to avoid any long lines at all, get there for RD and work your FP's.
I went Pres week this year - almost everyday was a 10...I went to the least crowded per park level each day, got there for RD, worked my FP's, and - although the afternoons & evenings were still very crowded, I had a couple of glorious crowd free hours in the mornings and still never waited on a long line for a ride all day!

How do you find out the anticipated crowd level for the parks? And how far in advance are they available?

Thanks - Carol

Touring Plans (http://touringplans.com/) has them listed 1 year in advance. I think it's $10 or $12 to join. The numbers change as they get information - so there is still no guarantee. My days over Pres week started at 7's and 8's when I first checked and they wound up at 10's....this coming Pres week, they're already listed as 9's...but I'm sure it will change. The closer you get, the more reliable the info will be - but that doesn't help much with your ADR's if you're making them 180 days out.

This depends entirely on what your WDW experience is. If you're used to going during Christmas week or spring break, 6 will seem like a heavenly break. If you're used to going during September, or the week before Thanksgiving, it's going to seem crazy busy.

I think a 6 is actually not bad at all!

Even if it's higher than that, with a really early start and a good touring plan, you'll get a lot done!

I think this is a fair assesment.
In General.. it's a 6 out of 10. So.. if a 10 is insanity, a 6 is on the higher end of moderate.

I had one odd experience with a 6. We were on our last day of our trip as the crowds were really picking up this year for Presidents Day week.

We went to EMH at MK in the evening to see the fireworks. It was a "not recommended" park due to the fact that it had pm EMH.
Add in the fact that it was fireworks time.. and OMG. It was worse than I have ever seen. It took 45 minutes to make it down Main Street. Cast members had marked the ground with arrows so one line could walk in one direction, while directly beside you people walked in the opposite direction. They had large glow sticks and were directing people out cast member exits.
I felt like a sardine.. didn't dare let go of my kids hands, and got really claustrophobic.
TP to this day lists that mess as a 6. So it must have just been because of the EMH and the fireworks.

Once we finally made it around the back of the castle it was much better. So in my experience .. a 6 is perfectly manageable unless you ignore all good sense and go when everyone is going at the same time for the same fireworks:rotfl:

I totally agree with this. But it also depends on how you deal with crowds in general.

Yup. A 6 sounds crazy busy to me. We're used to 1-3s though. I think with a solid touring plan and getting there for RD a 6 would be doable.

What if you don't do FP's? Do you still have a shot at getting on the most popular things? I didn't have any intentions of doing any RD's so I'm guessing FP's will be out by the time we get to things. My park days are all expected under 5. Think I will have horrible wait times even with low park levels? I keep seeing people on other threads say "get there for RD and make sure you get FP's". I figured with low crowd levels I wouldn't have to worry about this???

Touringplans says crowd level 6 for most of our week and easywdw says crowd level 5 for most of the week??

If you go at RD, you will have no to very little wait times for the first couple of hours after RD. Even better, if you go to morning EMH RD, which is what we try to do. We get in at early as possible, get FPs, see what we what, and get out by lunch time or early afternoon. This has worked on our October trips which are 3-6 crowd levels as well as Spring breaks which were 10's they entire trip.

We usually ride our favorite rides a couple of times. One time we rode TT four times in a row. We would have gone around a fifth time before the crowds picked up but the ride shut down for a while. On TT we did not even get out of the car, they let us go around again since there was nobody waiting. We have done similar things on EE, Space Mountain, RRRC, Tot, etc. Getting in early is the way to avoid lines and ride many rides in a short period of time. If you hit the E Ticket rides early, you hit the secondary attractions later in the morning/afternoon while everyone else is standing in line for those E Ticket rides.

We have gone at the same time as other family members but as different groups. They stayed off site, could not do EMH, and got to the parks at 10:00ish. They had a horrible time. We stayed on site, took advantage of morning EMH, plus FPes, and had a great time.

If you want to see attractions and stay out of lines, get to RD, hopefully morning EMH RD.

Later,
Dan

Easywdw has my week listed as 6's. Touringplans has the same week listed as 8's and 9's. Who do I believe? Does Easywdw ever adjust their numbers? They haven't changed since I've started watching several months ago, while Touringplans numbers have been moving up.
