Is 8 days too much ?

My girlfriend and I will be staying at CSR/Silver plan for 7 night from April 20 to 27 and I was just wondering if 8 days is more then enough to see everything… or is it to much ?

The last time I was in Orlando 16 years ago we did MK and EE in 3 days, but with the additions of 2 other parks and 2 water parks I’m thinking 8 days should be ok ?

And what are the crowds like in late April ?

Thanx !!

I really don't think 8 days is too much, depending on what you want to do and how much you want to see. We're actually taking 8 days for our upcoming trip, and we consider ourselves pretty familiar with the parks. For those who aren't as savvy with parks, transportation, wait times, etc, then it might be just right to get everything in while still exploring at a semi-leisurely pace.
Don't know what crowds are like in April, but 8 days should be a good time frame. Have fun!

8 days should definitely give you time to relax while you are there. You can visit the parks and park yourself on a bench for some serious people watching. One thing I enjoyed was watching the photographers (from Disney) take pictures of people in the parks. It's fun to watch them work the crowd.

We went in March for 2 weeks and it still wasn't enough time.;) There is so much to see and do besides the parks. Have a great time.

We prefer at least 10 days. Love going for 2 weeks. However, a friend of mine booked her first trip for 10 days and came home 4 days early. She, her dh and ds's had enough. Her next trip she went for 5 days. Way too short for me. But everyone has there own vacation style and expectations. IMHO 8 days is not too long. April crowds? don't know I haven't been in April in 16yrs. Have a great trip. It's fun to plan.

8 days is not too much time, IMO

We were there for a total of 12 days last June (minus two days for Sea World & Kenndey Space Center) so we were there for a total of 10 days and we did NOT step into any water parks.
We still did not see everything there is too see. Of course we saw all the main attractions & rides, but we skipped over a lot of the little things.

This December we are only going for 4 days but that is mainly for the Christmas decorations, the Candle Processional & MVMCP.

We have a 14 days trip plan for next June, every day but one will be in a Disney park. We are hoping to see everything there is to see & be able to take breaks & slow down & smell the roses :)

So just IMO, Eight days is not too much
You should be able to hit all the main attractions but I don't think you will be able to see everything Disney has to offer, especially if you are hitting the water parks also.

For me, 8 days would be too much, unless all 8 were not in the parks. So..........the length of stay pass would not be worth it, to me anyhow. We are going for 8 days, but have 4 day hoppers.

I like to leave some of Disney unvisited so next time I go, besides anything new that has been added, there is something new to us.
This is just how I like to do it. We also have 2 small boys (4.5 and 1) so we need some down time. We prefer to go in Jan or Sept and in Jan, park hrs are shorter so we like to get FULL days in at the parks and 4 FULL days are enough for us.

:hyper:

Eight days sounds right to me. We just did 4 days and it definitely wasn't enough. Dang near killed ourselves trying to see all we did. All the advice about building several hours of rest time into your daily schedules??? HEED IT!

I told DH, that the next time we do Disney we will not be on the run from 9a-9p. We will break our days into two parts to include 3 hours of hotel rest time in the middle of the afternoon. And there will be one and a half days where we will just enjoy the pool and do something lazy that doesn't involve the full tilt park boogie.

Take it at a slower pace, and you'll be able to enjoy the magic more. He felt it was a waste of money not to be going, going, going the whole time and I felt like it was a waste of money being so danged exhausted!

8 days is not too much.....in fact.....365 days isnt too much..move me in !!!!!!!!!

We've done 5 nights, 7 nights and last Aug. did 8 nights. We'll be there for 4 nights in Dec. and I'm getting depressed by the brevity of this visit!! At 8 nights/9 days we found we weren't too sad about going home. So, for us that was a perfect amount of time. I think you'll be fine.

8 days is not too much. We went for 7 days in September and it wasn't enough. We're going back for 2 weeks in December.:D

I would love to have 8 days-- we might do 8 days next time-- but we really like more relaxed touring. I like to be able to take an afternoon and spend 3-4 hours by the pool and not feel like I'm being a bad commando, or to just take a nap in the room, or (gasp) sleep late some days. I could never do 8 days if I were one of those morning-to-evening tourers-- it would be overkill.

That is our normal vacation time. Ithink it is just about perfect.

Every trip there are things we still didn't get to, but it always leaves us with a desire to return.

We also do DQ, water parks and hotel time.

It really depends on your family.

Our trips keep getting longer, but each time we miss something that was on our list to do! That's why we keep going back.

8 days is great--you can build in some down time at your resort and flexible periods for revisiting favorites or spontaneous plans.

Enjoy!!

Any length of time is the right length if you are realistic about what you can see and prioritize where you want to go. Of course you have to remember that Disney is one Giant Resort and the longer you stay the more time you have to explore the none theme park things. We personally enjoy just hanging out at our resort. We have stayed as long as 12 Days and never got bored. We're leaving on Friday for 9 Days at WDW with some recuperation time at Disney's Vero Beach afterwards. This will be our 3rd trip down w/in 12 months. We bought APs and we wanted to make the most of them. If you love Disney no trip is ever too long.
Back to your question 8 days would be long enough to cover all 4 parks and a little more.

Thank You for all the info !

I just hope that there will not be too much people in late April.

Would a 20min line be consider long for a WDW ride , or is that a normal waiting time ?

Thanx again !

You will be there more than a week after the Easter Weekend so the lines should be thinning down. 20 minutes or less sounds fairly reasonable, but all the Major attractions could have longer lines. That is where the Fast Pass comes in. On the otherhand you may find that you can walk right on a major attraction just depending on your timing.

We stayed for 2 weeks in the summer and I could have stayed for longer. We spent enough times in the parks to see everything we wanted and did both water parks. We went out of disney for a few days but then still used our park passes in the evenings to go into Epcot to watch illuminations or to go to eat or to go to MK to watch the fireworks (we stayed at the BCV's so going into Epcot was easy for us on an evening.) We have our next visit planned over christmas in a few years time and we will be going for 2 weeks again (and I can't wait!!)

It all depends upon you and what you have your heart set on doing. We did a 10 day trip in Nov. 2001 and it was our best trip ever. We could take our time, and did not have to get up at the crack of dawn if we didn't feel like it. Then too travel and tourism had take a big hit at that moment so there were less people.

I agree that that is a good lenght..enough time to do things at a nice pace with some out of parks days in between ( which we always need just to escape from the intensity of it)

never been april either but post when you get back and let us know . I think early spring would be a nce time to go from here... maybe leave with snow on the ground & come back to crocuses!
