Irritated already!

I was able to book 7D towards the end of our trip (11/14-11/20) on 11/19 yesterday morning at 7 AM for 6 people in the exact times I was looking for.
I have to disagree with both

IMO, they shouldn't feel better, they should look throughout their trip to see if things are available, then they wouldn't need to post about being irritated because they paid for their vacation (and I, who did get free dining, apparently did not)...

I just think it was a mean post and not necessary. I've been reading a lot of posts recently that aren't nice to other people and don't think it's right. We're all on here for information and not to be snarky at one another.

Even if you booked in May, you still could have gotten "free" dining added to your trip. You could have called them when the special came out & if it was available for your dates & resort it could have been applied to your trip. Many of the dining reservations are being swiped up by companies creating fake reservations and selling them to customers.

For the coveted fastpasses, I try to book my last days first. I have had no problem getting the fastpasses I want.

We are here to give accurate information and accurate info is not necessarily snarky. At least now the OP is aware if they decide to return to WDW.

I went in May. Went on line 60 days out, at 730 am and got 4 FP+ for 7DMT? on 4 different days. True, I'm not booking for 8 people.

Shorter park hours, smaller party size, possibly lower capacity that time of year, length of your trip...... all make a big difference.

OP, here is a word of encouragement. I have a party of 8 and had no 7DMT fast pass options open to me on our planned MK days when my window opened at midnight...same night as you. I have stalked farily religiously since 9/12 and now have overlapping timeframes for 6 people in our party of 8 on 11/11. It's probable that in the next 56 days 2 more in the same time frame will open up, but I'm not worrying about it.

It's easy to stalk with the app. I work a crazy job and was still able to do it. And it's much easier than finding hard to get ADRs. Search for one FP at a time and then keep checking for overlapping timeframes. Nothing ever came up when I looked for 2 or more, but I had great luck searching for 1 at a time.

If you have the time, patience and inclination to check regularly, I'm sure you'll find them. Good luck!

It is sad when people expect they should not have to pay for their food. :(
The system is junk, but regardless if you are paying for your food or not should not have anything to do with which FPs you get.
I am sincerely sorry that you cannot get what you want for FPs, but this post just reads like "I am entitled".

False. The people not paying for food are paying full rack rate for their room. You are able to book under a Fall room offer or even an equivalent offer such as an AAA rate. So don't be fooled by the "free" dining ruse. And besides, those booked under the free dining promotion are afforded the same opportunities you are when it comes to booking FPs and ADRs. You win some, you lose some in the Disney game.
It's a fact of life that you cannot please everyone. Disney in my opinion is brilliant.. They have found a way to bring in visitors during non busy times to generate more revenue by offering 'free dining' .. They call it free dining but they only offer one quick serve meal and one snack per day per person. We don't get room discounts or any other promotion that others do. We PAY for the rest of our meals. If you don't like it, don't go during the free dining.. Simple as that. $4000 for a family of 4 sounds like a great deal to me!

Not aware of any Disney Dining plan that only includes 1 Quick Service and 1 snack per day. THE QS plan at the Values is 2 QS and a snack and the Regular plan at moderates and deluxes is 1 QS, 1 TS and 1 snack per day. We have used both plans and our OOP costs are minimal. Disney meals, if you go to the right places, are HUGE!!

Are you people nuts?????? I am paying good money to go there! I love Disney, but yes, it irritates me that to bump sales they give free dining making the slow times crowded! If I started picking Fastpasses three days after it opened up then shame on me, but 7:30am. That's ridiculous!

No we are not nuts. We understand that Disney is a company. Companies exist to make money. If they can fill their parks and resorts more days out of the year, they make more money, they can then add additional things to the parks and resorts that people enjoy, and the cycle continues. There is nothing that says you can't do any particular attraction just because you don't have a FP for it. Furthermore, no one is entitled to a FP for anything. You get on and make your reservations for what is available at the time.

And you are not the only one dropping that kind of money. Everyone is looking for that perfect vacation and doing what they can to make it so. Based on your signature, you've been to WDW before and have been on these boards for quite some time. You should be somewhat ahead of the curve with planning. Free Dining for example is a hot topic here and watched by multiple threads in anticipation of its release. You are going during Free Dining. If it was something you wanted, the info on how to get it was readily available to you. Yes, sometimes things just don't go your way and you don't a coveted ADR or FP but that isn't Disney's fault or the fault of those taking advantage of available discounts.
The system doesn't look at how much you paid for your trip verses the next family. And, believe me, many people pay a lot more than you have and still won't get 7DMT & A & E meet & greet for those dates.

Exactly. We are staying in a Grand Villa and buying 5 days of park tickets for 8 people. How much do you think we spent? Should we get Fps even earlier?

I have a trip planned for Nov 11th-Nov17th. I DID NOT get free dining because I booked it back in May. Anyway, fast passes opened up Sat morning. I got online to pick then at 7:30am and 7DM was already gone and so were Anna and Elsa Meet and Greet. I'm angry! I am paying for my food and can't get what I want, but the people not paying get want they want! Seems like a flawed system to me! Do you think calling Disney will help, or is it a waste of time????

When did you start booking for you FP? I am going Nov. 11th as well and I was at my computer waiting at midnight Florida time to book mine. I started with the last day of my trip and worked my way to the 1st due to being told I would have more options the last days than the 1st. It worked out great I THINK I got every FP I set out to get(maybe not on the day I wanted but oh well). Elsa and Anna had me the most nervous so I went for it 1st. It was really hard choosing 3 a day but I am fairly confident in my choices. 1st trip EVER to WDW so I am sure there will be things I wish I did different. I also got a FP for Cinderella and Rapunzel our 1st day though I'm not sure if that was a great choice (needed)

Booking in May did not stop you from changing your reservation to a FD reservation when it was released (which if I remember correctly was May).

Besides FREE dining isn't really free anyways, thats why I have to pay rack rate and not a room discount

Sorry you didn't get what you want, but the "free dining" isn't really free (if that makes you feel better). They try to make it sound like it is, but typically the folks with free dining are paying higher room rates (as discounts can't be combined and you probably got a better room rate).

I can tell you that when we changed to our FD booking we had to add hoppers to our tickets, stayed at the same resort in the same level room and saved $200
