Anyone know the best place to buy one? I don't care about if it is 8gb or 32gb. It is for my DD11. I just want a good deal.

I think Walmart has them on special for around $220. Either this week or black friday. I can't remember, but I know I came across it on their site. That's the cheapest I've seen it.

walmart has the 8g for $225 on bf and you get a $50gc with it. Which I am going to use towards the 69$ blue ray player they have.. wish they were for me but nope they are for my 10 yr old.. lol

we plan on buying a ipod touch 4th generation 32 from amazon. $288, no tax and free shipping. I see all these bonus gift cards but when you calculate the tax it does not seem to be worth it. We have an apple store and if the ipod is defected they will exchange it for another even if you bought it from amazon. So I see no reason not to get the 32.

We have bought our ipods refurbished directly from the apple store website and gotten great deals with no problems. They are all sold with the same warantee as a brand new one from apple, so you are covered by them.

This is my thought, as well. The eight gig previous generation is currently $149.

Is this a black friday sale or just a regular price/sale?

I had debated crossing the border to get the 8gb with giftcard on Black Friday but logistically it's a bit of a pain, and the border could be reallllllyyyyy backed up that day. If I can just order it from Amazon instead and get the 32gb (which is what I really wanted anyway) I'd rather do that.

I think I read on here somewhere that either the Toys R Us giftcard or the Walmart card takes a few days to become active. I could be wrong but you may want to look into it so there is no suprises on the sale day

If you find it for $299 in the store which is average you have to add on about $30 in NJ for tax. So the TRU GC of $50 really is like $15 and then the crowds and fights on Black Friday.....so not worth it.....

Also be wary of some stores, Target is one, that charges a 15% repackaging fee to return some electronics. Not that we'd plan to but sometimes you have to. I wouldn't buy from a place that charges a fee to return something, esp a % of an expensive item.

Is there no tax for NY too?? Debating on where to get my dd the 32. I was going to suck it up and get it from Apple so it could be engraved but if I can save a decent amount she'll live without engraving, lol

I plan on getting one for Christmas for myself from Amazon as well. The gift card incentive some stores have do not thrill me because I never really shop there (ie., toysrus), and you still have to pay tax which is about $25-30 bucks for me. So Amazon is the way to go.

I believe you have to wait 6 hours after activation according to the ad to use the TRU gift card that you receive with the purchase of the iTouch.

I am buying two, so it is a better deal for me to get the $50 gift card. The tax on two would only be $40.00 and I will get (2) $50 gift cards.

I need to have mine shipped to Kansas and Amazon does charge tax there. It may still be my best bet. 6.5% tax and free shipping is $307. Or buy one at TRU for $299, pay MD tax, and pay for shipping. That'll eat up the $50 gift card. I can't win.

32gb is 299, but you get free headphones, free shipping, sales tax only in a few states. Headphones are supposedly worth 80. Had I not purchased already from J&R on ebay, I would have gone for this deal. On special till 11/28.

My parents just ordered the 32GB for Britt. It cost $318 total incl tax and whatever else comes w/ it. They wanted the engraving and that was free. While it wasn't the best deal, to my Mom & Dad it was the "easiest" and they are assured my dd will have it by Christmas.

They liked the idea that if there is a problem, it can be taken to the Apple Store in the mall.

My mother asked them about it today and the lady at walmart said it was going to be an iTunes gift card. Has anyone heard this??

I need three. I am soooo debating weather it is going to be worth getting in line at midnight or not for the gift cards. Last year there was three of us in line for computers, and we got them, but that was rough.

Keep in mind that they will only give one per person at most stores on these big items. Make sure you have enough people with you to get all that you need.
