iPod Touch - update app question

I'm new to iTunes & iPod Touch. I have 1 app that needs to be updated. How can I update just that 1 app?

I've unchecked music, photos & all the other stuff in ITunes so I won't have to wait forever, but its still taking forever to back up.

I did not uncheck the other apps because I thought that would not send them to the iTouch again. Was that right?

Try updating directly through your Touch...click on the blue Apps Store icon on the Touch screen. when the store comes up, you'll see Updates in the lower right corner with an arrow icon. If you have any updates available, you'll see a number in a red circle. Tap the Updates icon, and just the app that needs updating will come up.

You can also buy apps directly through the Apps store on the Touch, and can download podcasts directly via the ITunes icon.
