Invisalign - How Much Does it Cost???

Hi there. My hubby and I both have some mildly crooked bottom chompers and keep seeing commercials for Invisalign. That looks much more appealing than braces. Anyone have a ballpark figure of how much the whole treatment runs - and how long do you have to wear them? Is it basically the same price no matter where you go? :confused3

I have already had braces, etc years ago but needed a new retainer (I grind my teeth a lot at night) and went to an ortho for treatment. He ran down the list of options and one of them was invisalign - it was about 5400 for uppers and lowers.

DH had Ivisalign several years ago so I am sure prices have increased. I also think the Dr. and amount of treatment required will affect the price. His treatment was to correct spacing which is easier than correcting crowding. His treatment took about a year but he saw almost immediate improvement (within a couple of weeks). He is very glad he did it. His was about 8-9 years ago and cost about $700 total for all treatment and materials.

$6000 was the estimate for me to correct crowding on the bottom and a slight overbite. My insurance would cover to $1500 or $2500 I can't remember which.

My quote was about $5,000 a few years ago. DH insurance will NOT pay anything towards adult braces/orth care... did pay $1500.00 towards DS thankfully (he had standard braces, not Invisaline).

Wow - I just didn't think that it would be that much in general! This might have to wait a little. I really only think I need the bottom - already had braces years ago but didn't wear the retainer long enough. Our insurance won't cover this at all for adults, so we're on our own. Thank you all for the info - I knew my fellow DISsers would know the answer. :goodvibes

a coworker has them and they are around $5000. They quoted her on about a year and a half but she said now they are saying 2 years.. Im going to do the basic clear up top and metal on the bottom. :confused3 my insurances pays $2500 towards them so I just need to get my nerve up and get them on..

Almost $9000 for 18-20 months. I went with Insignia braces ($7000 all out of pocket) due a similar timeline and better overall results (ortho and dentist recomendation).

Just in case, be prepared to be told you aren't a candidate for Invisalign, since not everyone is. I sure wasn't. The commercials make it look so great, but many cases simply can't be treated with Invisalign. I knew my case was too severe, so I wasn't surprised when my ortho told me I needed the standard braces treatment, plus surgery too. :(

So in my 30's, I did 3 plus years of good old traditional metal/ceramic braces - with chains, wires, and I even had to wear rubber bands for while (yep, I came to work wearing those). It did the trick - I finally have a normal smile. :)

OP - hope you find a way to get the nice teeth you desire! For me, it was the BEST thing I ever did for myself. Crooked teeth are a social and professional liability - so glad I have nice teeth now. :)
